A new time integrated method for the study of resonant nuclear scattering of synchrotron radiation in the forward direction or in Bragg directions is introduced. This method gives in principle similar information as the well known time differential method. A brief comparison of both methods is presented. The idea is to excite coherently the nuclei incorporated in two absorbers, one moving with respect to the other. The fields radiated by the nuclei from both absorbers interfere and each time the nuclear energy in one absorber matches, by Doppler modulation, the nuclear energy of the other, an extremum in the time integrated intensity is observed. The results of the first experiments at the Advanced Photon Source at the Argonne National Laboratory will be presented. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Reactions of tetrathiafulvalenyllithium (TTF-Li) with a range of aldehydes and ketones have been explored for the first time, to provide an efficient route to mono-functionalised TTF derivatives of general formulae TTF-CH(OH)R (R = alkyl, phenyl, tetrathiafulvalenyl and ferrocenyl) and TTF-CR(OH)R′ (R = alkyl, phenyl, R′ = alkyl, phenyl, tetrathiafulvalenyl, ferrocenyl, and R-R′ = fluorenyl). Subsequent transformations involving the reactive alcohol group of some of these compounds are reported. The structures of the three title compounds have been established by single-crystal X-ray analysis.  相似文献

A3He-4He dilution refrigerator was constructed to perform Mössbauer measurements well below 4.2K. Results are reported here on the pseudobinary Laves-Phase system Y (Fe1-x Cox)2 for x=0.978. We found that at low temperatures, the Fe ions undergo a disordered magnetic phase transition, with a Curie temperature of approximately 4K and a saturation field of 96K0e. The easy axis of magnetization appears to be the [111] direction. In this Perspective, I describe recent work on systems in which the traditional distinctions between (i) unentangled versus well‐entangled systems and (ii) melts versus glasses seem least useful, and argue for the broader use in glassy polymer mechanics of two more dichotomies: systems which possess (iii) unary versus binary and (iv) cooperative versus noncooperative relaxation dynamics. I discuss the applicability of (iii–iv) to understanding the functional form of strain hardening. Results from molecular dynamics simulations show that the “dramatic” hardening observed in densely entangled systems is associated with a crossover from unary, noncooperative to binary, cooperative relaxation as strain increases; chains stretch between entanglement points, altering the character of local plasticity. Infra-red spectra have been recorded for silyl fluoride and silyl fluoride-d 3 at a resolution of circa 0·3 cm-1. Rotational structure has been observed for parallel fundamentals in both molecules, and for all perpendicular fundamentals. In both SiH3F and SiD3F the A 1 and E species deformation modes interact strongly via a Coriolis perturbation; this has been analysed, and the band origin of v 5 for SiH3F is reassigned. A hybrid-orbital force field based on the experimental data is also reported.  相似文献

We consider diffraction by a semi-infinite crack located alonga fusion interface between two differing elastic media. Twotypes of crack, namely open and partially closed cracks, areinvestigated. An open crack is modelled by a stress-free contactboundary condition and a partially closed crack is modelledby a spring contact boundary condition. For the latter, thejump in the stress across the crack is assumed to be proportionalto the jump in the displacement across the crack. This situationarises in, for example, a K-weld where the fine grain of theparent material (for example, ferritic or forged austeniticsteel) is in stark contrast with the coarse-grained weld metal(for example, austenitic weld metal). In the metal weld thedirection of the grain axis varies through the metal. However,diffraction is a local phenomenon and so the austenitic steelis assumed to have a zonal axis so that it may be modelled bya transversely isotropic composite. The ferritic or forged austeniticsteel will be modelled as an isotropic material.  相似文献
