Landfill gas, cryotrapped on a loop fashioned from a length of a capillary gas chromatography (GC) column, was examined for volatile organometallic compounds (VOMCs) and for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by using GC–mass spectrometry (MS). A large number of organic components were present and many were identified, but the only VOMCs present in high enough concentrations to be detected were trimethylstibine and tetramethyltin. The use of inductively coupled plasma (ICP)‐MS as an element‐specific detector allowed the identification of a number of other organometallic species in the landfill gas, including trimethylarsine and trimethylbismuth, and, for the first time, butyltrimethyltin and dibutyldimethyltin. The presence of molybdenum hexacarbonyl was confirmed. Gas from a large‐scale compost heap and from compost incubated in the laboratory contained iodomethane but no common VOMCs (GC–ICP‐MS). Product integration rules generalizing the Fej?r, Clenshaw-Curtis,and Filippi quadrature rules respectively are derived for integralswith trigonometric and hyperbolic weight factors. The Chebyshevmoments of the weight functions are found to be given by well-conditionedexpressions, in terms of hypergeometric functions 0F1. An a priori error estimator is discussed which is shown bothto avoid wasteful invocation of the integration rule and toincrease significantly the robustness of the automatic quadratureprocedure. Then, specializing to extended Clenshaw-Curtis (ECC) rules,three types of a posteriori error estimates are considered andthe existence of a great risk of their failure is demonstratedby large scale validation tests. An empirical error estimator,superseding them for slowly varying integrands, is found toresult in a spectacular increase in the output reliability. Finally, enhancements in the control of the interval subdivisionstrategy aiming at increasing code robustness is discussed.Comparison with the code DQAWO of QUADPACK, with about a hundredthousand solved integrals, is illustrative of the increasedrobustness and error estimate reliability of our computer codeimplementation of the ECC rules. 相似文献

A classical theory of dissociative attachment (DA) is developed. The DA cross section σν → DA of a molecule in the initial vibrational state ν is calculated. The model is applied to the negative ion formation in low energy electron scattering from CF3Cl molecules. The fluorescent probe dimethylaminonaphthylsulfonamide is covalently bound to the ends of the pol(ethylene glycol) chains of the swellable block copolymers poly(ethylene glycol)–polystyrene (PEG-PS) and poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(ethylene imine) (PEG-PEI) to investigate the molecular mobility inside the polymers, swollen by different liquids. Steady-state and time-resolved studies of the Stokes shift between absorption and fluorescence spectra reveal that the probe is solvated by both the polymer matrix and the liquid phase. The extent of solvation by the liquid and the mobility of the microenvironment of the probe depend on both the swelling volume of the polymer and the solubility of the probe in this liquid. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence depolarisation measurements show that the polymer matrix forms a very rigid solvent cage, which almost completely immobilizes the probe. Upon solvation of the probe by the liquid, the mobility of the probe increases. In PEG-PEI swollen by polar solvents, the mobilities of the probe itself and of its microenvironment, although not reaching the values observed in homogeneous solution, are significantly higher than in PEG-PS, due to the hydrophilic nature of the polymeric backbone in PEG-PEI. 相似文献

Simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography combines high productivity and high purities with reduced buffer consumption. We have developed a laboratory scale single column SMB (SC-SMB) unit with all four separation zones in one column. Distributors embedded within the chromatographic medium allow introduction and withdrawal of liquid between the zones. This single column unit exhibits homogenous packing in all zones, reduced headspace, less complex tubing, fewer valves, and almost undisturbed plug flow between the separation zones. The separation performance of the column was investigated with two different binary model mixtures. Furthermore, the SC-SMB unit is operated with a modified AKTA Explorer workstation, which has been specifically developed for the handling of biological fluids. 相似文献

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with Visudyne® acts by direct cellular phototoxicity and/or by an indirect vascular-mediated effect. Here, we demonstrate that the vessel integrity interruption by PDT can promote the extravasation of a macromolecular agent in normal tissue. To obtain extravasation in normal tissue PDT conditions were one order of magnitude more intensive than the ones in tissue containing neovessels reported in the literature.Fluorescein isothiocyanate dextran (FITC-D, 2000 kDa), a macromolecular agent, was intravenously injected 10 min before (LK0 group, n = 14) or 2 h (LK2 group, n = 16) after Visudyne®-mediated PDT in nude mice bearing a dorsal skin fold chamber. Control animals had no PDT (CTRL group, n = 8). The extravasation of FITC-D from blood vessels in striated muscle tissue was observed in both groups in real-time for up to 2500 s after injection. We also monitored PDT-induced leukocyte rolling in vivo and assessed, by histology, the corresponding inflammatory reaction score in the dorsal skin fold chambers.In all animals, at the applied PDT conditions, FITC-D extravasation was significantly enhanced in the PDT-treated areas as compared to the surrounding non-treated areas (p < 0.0001). There was no FITC-D leakage in the control animals. Animals from the LK0 group had significantly less FITC-D extravasation than those from the LK2 group (p = 0.0002). In the LK0 group FITC-D leakage correlated significantly with the inflammation (p < 0.001).At the selected conditions, Visudyne®-mediated PDT promotes vascular leakage and FITC-D extravasation into the interstitial space of normal tissue. The intensity of vascular leakage depends on the time interval between PDT and FITC-D injection. This concept could be used to locally modulate the delivery of macromolecules in vivo. 相似文献
