We have measured the thermal conductivity of the spin S=1 chain compound Y(2)BaNiO(5). Analyzing the anisotropy of the thermal transport allows us to identify a definite spin-mediated thermal conductivity kappa(s) along the chain direction. The calculated spin-related energy diffusion constant D(E)(T) shows a broad peak around 120 K. Close to room temperature, D(E)(T) approaches the theoretically predicted high-temperature value, while scattering of spin excitations by magnetic impurities seems to be the major limiting factor of kappa(s) at low temperature.  相似文献

We report on measurements of the Seebeck-effect, the Nernst-effect, and the magnetoresistance in the mixed state of ac-axis oriented expitaxial film of Y–Ba–Cu–O. In contrast to conventional superconductors we find a large Seebeck-coefficientS, which is comparable in magnitude to the Nernst-effect. The broadening of the super-conducting transitions of magnetoresistance and Seebeck-effect are rather similar with respect to (1) the temperature dependence, (2) the dependence on the direction between magnetic field and crystal axis and (3) the dependence on the direction between magnetic field and driving forces. The large Seebeck-effect has to be attributed to dissipation due to normal quasiparticle-excitations, since the vortex-contribution to the Seebeck-effect is by far too small to account for the observed magnitude ofS. It is argued that such a quasiparticle contribution to the dissipation is large in the high-T c superconductors because of the small coherence lengths and thus the small vortex cores. Another possibility is that granularity leads to dissipation proportional to the normal state transport properties. The Seebeck-voltage depends on all dissipative processes other than vortex motion, whereas the Nernst-effect depends only on the vortex motion. Therefore by measurements of thermomagnetic effects the various dissipative properties may be separated.  相似文献

The magnetostriction (MS) of REBa2Cu3O7– (RE=Y, Nd, Eu, Gd, Ho, Er, Yb) is reported as a function of magnetic field and temperature forH<5 T and 1.5H>1 T. The MS is much larger when the rare earth carries a magnetic moment, as usual, but the volume MS observed with moment carrying REBa2Cu3O7– is larger than that of nonsuperconducting intermetalics. This effect is explained by the shielding currents which are induced by the 4f magnetic moments in the superconducting CuO-lattice. The thermal expansion of GdBa2Cu3O7– shows a large peak at the ordering temperature of 2.2 K in both the superconducting and the nonsuperconducting samples.  相似文献

The fluorescent diaminoterephthalate scaffold was equipped by amidation with three types of reactive functions: thiols for metal‐surface binding, alkynes for click reactions, and maleimides for ligation with proteins. Starting from a succinyl succinate derivative with two orthogonally cleavable ester functions, three monoamides (38–57 % yield over three steps) and two bisamides (19 and 25 % yield over five steps) were prepared. Although alkyne and thiol derivatized compounds showed reasonable luminescence behavior (Φ≈1–4 %), the fluorescence was quenched by the maleimide moiety. It was turned on (10‐ to 20‐fold increase of fluorescence quantum yield) by conjugate addition of thiols.  相似文献

A Sodium Oxocobaltate(II) Sulfate: Na8[CoO3][SO4]2 Na8[CoO3][SO4]2 has been obtained from a redox reaction between cobalt metal and CdO in the presence of Na2SO4 and Na2O at 550 °C (15 d) as red single crystals. The structure has been determined from single crystal data (IPDS‐data, T = 170 K, Cmcm, Z = 4, a = 806.88(9) pm, b = 2232.1(3) pm, c = 705.97(9) pm, Rall = 0.047). Magnetic properties and spectroscopic investigations are reported and discussed within the Angular‐Overlap‐Model.  相似文献

In the mixed state of superconductors the spectral flow of fermion zero modes in the vortex core couples the motion of vortices to that of the normal fluid. This gives rise to a heat current perpendicular to the direction of vortex motion and therefore to longitudinal thermomagnetic effects like the thermopower and the Peltier effect. Analysis of vortex motion in a temperature gradient on this basis yields excellent agreement with experimental results.  相似文献
