Hexafluoroisobutenylidene sulfate is a sulfotrioxidizing agent with respect to various olefins; methylenemethionic acid is formed in the case of ethylene, while the corresponding-sulfones are formed in the case of tetrafluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride. 2,2-Difluoro-2-hydroxy-ethanesulfonic acid sultone is characterized by a capacity for anionotropic transformations; a number of sulfoacetic acid derivatives were obtained on the basis of this sultone.See [1] for communication III.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 178–182, February, 1973.     

A comparative investigation of the fatty acid compositions of the seeds of a number of lines of a genetic collection of Gossypium hirsutum

A comparative analysis has been made of the amounts of lipids and their fatty-acid compositions in the seeds of the lines of agenetic collection of cotton plants of the speciesGossypium hirsutum and their hybrids and the variety Tashkent-1. Using Polymer-Colloid Complexes for Obtaining Mesoporous Aluminium Oxide by the Template Sol-Gel Method

The paper reports the results of using polymer-colloid complexes in solutions in order to control textural properties of mesoporous aluminium oxide in the sol–gel synthesis process. Polyethyleneimine, cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, as well as a polymer-colloid complex formed by their interaction in the solution were used as pore-forming templates. The mesoporous aluminium oxides synthesized in this work had a narrow pore size distribution and a large surface area. The application of different templates made it possible to affect the mechanism of supramolecular self–assembly of materials, namely by controlling the pore sizes. When the polymer-colloid complex was used as the template for the formation of aluminium oxide nanostructures, 6 nm cylindrical pores were formed, while using individual templates led to the formation of 8–13 nm mesopores. Identifying the formation mechanism of a certain pore type will make it possible to use these materials in specific reactions.     

Deep microrelief measurement and stereo photography in scanning electron microscopy

Fundamental differences between standard photography and micro-object imaging in a scanning electron microscope are analyzed. Basic ways of taking stereograms with a scanning electron microscope by the object rotation method and the observing technique are described. It is shown that stereo photography correctly estimates the spatial arrangement of features in objects with an intricate microrelief and makes it possible to very accurately calculate the depth of this relief (which sometimes exceeds the field of vision at large magnifications) in wide limits (from 0.5 to 100.0 μm). Using the developed surface of Li₄Ti₅O1₂ oxide and GaAs whiskers as examples, a stereographic computational method based on linear measurements of the same area on the object before and after rotation is demonstrated.

Energy relaxation mechanism in Landau level system of quantum wells

Kinetics of intrasubband energy relaxation of electrons in the system of Landau levels lying below the optical phonon energy is studied. Extraordinary behavior of the relaxation of electronic subsystem excitation energy is detected. Despite the fact that its main channel is optical phonon emission, the total relaxation time exceeds the characteristic times of scattering on optical phonons by several orders of magnitude.
