Template atom transfer radical polymerization of a diaminopyrimidine‐derivatized monomer in the presence of a uracil‐containing polymer

Uracil‐derivatized monomer 6‐undecyl‐1‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)uracil and diaminopyrimidine‐derivatized monomer 2,6‐dioctanoylamido‐4‐methacryloyloxypyrimidine (DMP) were synthesized and polymerized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). A well‐defined, highly soluble, uracil‐containing polymer, poly[6‐undecyl‐1‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)uracil] (PUVU), was prepared in dioxane at 90 °C with CuBr/1,1,4,7,10,10‐hexamethyltriethylenetetramine as the catalyst and methyl α‐bromophenylacetate as the initiator. PUVU was further used as a template for the ATRP of DMP. The enhanced apparent rate constant of the DMP polymerization in the presence of PUVU indicated that the ATRP of DMP occurred along the PUVU template. The template polymerization produced a stable and insoluble macromolecular complex, PUVU/poly(2,6‐dioctanoylamido‐4‐methacryloyloxypyrimidine). Vibrational energy relaxation dynamics of Si---H stretching modes on stepped H/Si(111) 1×1 surfaces

The vibrational energy relaxation rates of excited Si---H stretching modes on the monohydride steps of miscut H/Si(111) 1×1 surfaces are calculated using Bloch-Redfield theory combined with classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The structure and vibrational frequencies of the surface are first investigated using the Car-Parrinello ab initio MD method. The calculated Si---Si---H bending frequencies and relaxed structures are then used to refine the empirical potential for the classical MD simulations. The lifetime of the excited Si---H stretching mode at the step is found to be shorter than the modes on the terrace. Both the magnitude and the trend of the calculated results agree well with the experimental measurement on the 9° monohydride stepped surface. The vibrational relaxation rate of the Si---H stretching modes on the 15° monohydride stepped surface are also calculated and predicted to have a slightly shorter lifetime than for the 9° surface.

茂基稀土胺化物(MeCp)2YbNPh2(THF)与异氰酸正己酯(n-HexylNCO)按11摩尔比反应, 分离出产物{(MeC5H4)2Yb[OC(NPh2)N(n-hexyl)]}2. 产物经元素分析和核磁共振表征, 并测定了其晶体结构. 配合物属三斜晶系, R-3空间群, 晶胞参数为a=2.9533(11) nm, b=2.9533(11) nm, c=1.5873(6) nm, V=11.9896(80) nm3, Z=9, Dc=1.562 mg·m-3, μ=3.536 mm-1 (Mo Kα), F(000)=5670, R=0.034, Rw=0.064. 该化合物具有二个对称氧桥的双分子结构, 并存在着由氮原子向中心金属镱分子内配位而形成的三环骨架, 中心金属镱的配位数是九, 整个分子呈中心对称.

BirA*-protein A fusion protein based BioEnhancer amplifies western blot immunosignal

Western blot (protein immunoblot) is a widely used analytical technique in molecular biology. Utilizing the specific recognizing primary antibody, proteins immobilized on various matrix are investigated by subsequent visualization steps, for example, by the horse radish peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody incubation. Methods to improve the sensitivity in protein identification or quantification are appreciated by biochemists. Herein, we report a new strategy to amplify Western blot signals by constructing a probe with proximal labeling and IgG targeting abilities. The R118G mutation attenuated the biotin-AMP binding affinity of the bacterial biotin ligase BirA*, offering a proximity-dependent labeling ability, which could be used as a signal amplifier. We built a BirA*-protein A fusion protein (BioEnhancer) that specifically binds to IgG and adds biotin tags to its proximal amine groups, enhancing the immunosignal of target proteins. In our experiments, the BioEnhancer system amplified the immunosignal by tenfold compared to the standard western blot. Additionally, our strategy could couple with other signal enhancement methods to further increase the western blot sensitivity.

以XRD法确定制得的标题晶体属空间群D_(3A)~3,a=13.111,c=11.130。结构由帕特逊-极小函数法结合差值法解出,经精修得一致性因子R_w=0.0344。晶胞中坐落在6m2特殊位置上的是包合1个Cl~-的聚十五钒酸根[V_(15)O_(36)Cl]~(10-),配合键价法确认这是四价钒占主导地位的一类特种混合价同多酸根。     

Surface modification of polyolefin separators for lithium ion batteries to reduce thermal shrinkage without thickness increase

Surface chemical modification of polyolefin separators for lithium ion batteries is attempted to reduce the thermal shrinkage, which is important for the battery energy density. In this study, we grafted organic/inorganic hybrid crosslinked networks on the separators, simply by grafting polymerization and condensation reaction. The considerable silicon-oxygen crosslinked heat-resistance networks are responsible for the reduced thermal shrinkage. The strong chemical bonds between networks and separators promise enough mechanical support even at high temperature. The shrinkage at 150 C for 30 min in the mechanical direction was 38.6% and 4.6% for the pristine and present graft-modified separators, respectively. Meanwhile, the grafting organic-inorganic hybrid crosslink networks mainly occupied part of void in the internal pores of the separators, so the thicknesses of the graft-modified separators were similar with the pristine one. The half cells prepared with the modified separators exhibited almost identical electrochemical properties to those with the commercial separators, thus proving that, in order to enhance the thermal stability of lithium ion battery, this kind of grafting-modified separators may be a better alternative to conventional silica nanoparticle layers-coated polyolefin separators.     

内腔自适应光学系统校正激光器畸变

固体激光器中,增益介质由于热沉积产生的热畸变严重影响了激光器的稳定性、输出功率和光束质量。研究了一种内腔自适应光学系统校正激光器腔内畸变的方法,利用微机电变形反射镜作为固体激光器的内腔全反射镜,通过控制变形镜的面型改善激光器输出光束的模式及功率。从腔外引入的一束信标光通过激光器内腔后反射出腔外,用波前探测器可测得激光器工作时腔内畸变对此信标光的影响,并通过搭建的自适应光学系统平台可闭环校正此畸变。实验结果表明,闭环校正后,激光器的输出功率提高了近3倍,且激光光束质量得到了明显的改善。     

A new method for estimating bounds of eigenvalues

A new method for estimating the bounds of eigenvalues is presented. In order to show that the method proposed is as effective as Qiu's, an undamping spring-mass system with 5 nodes and 5 degrees of freedom is given. To illustrate that the present method can be applied to structures which cannot be treated by non-negative decomposition, a plane frame with 202 nodes and 357 beam elements is given. The results show that the present method is effective for estimating the bounds of eigenvalues and is more common than Qiu's.
