Square-wave voltammetric (SWV) determination of Captopril in reconstituted serum and pharmaceutical formulations

A simple, fast and sensitive square-wave voltammetric (SWV) method for the determination of trace amounts of Captopril in pharmaceutical formulation and reconstituted serum is reported. A three-electrode system containing the static mercury drop electrode (SMDE) working electrode, Pt auxiliary electrode and Ag/AgCl reference electrode was used throughout. Sodium sulfite was used as both supporting electrolyte and oxygen removing agent. No nitrogen purging is needed for oxygen removal from sample solution. Calibration graph showed good linearity in the concentration range of 0.5-50.0 μg mL⁻¹ of Captopril and regression coefficient of 0.9957 is obtained. R.S.D. for eight replicate measurements and LOD of the proposed method are 1.2% and 6.28 × 10⁻³ μg mL⁻¹, respectively. The effect of various parameters (equilibration time, scan increment, pulse height, drop size, frequency and sodium sulfite concentration) on the determination were investigated. The procedure was successfully applied to the determination of Captopril in pharmaceutical formulation and reconstituted serum.     

Conformal vector fields on Finsler spaces

Here, it is shown that every vector field on a Finsler space which keeps geodesic circles invariant is conformal. A necessary and sufficient condition for a vector field to keep geodesic circles invariant, known as concircular vector fields, is obtained. This leads to a significant definition of concircular vector fields on a Finsler space. Finally, complete Finsler spaces admitting a special conformal vector field are classified.

Convergence of Finslerian metrics under Ricci flow

In this work,we study the convergence of evolving Finslerian metrics first in a general flow and next under Finslerian Ricci flow.More intuitively it is proved that a family of Finslerian metrics g(t)which are solutions to the Finslerian Ricci flow converges in C~∞ to a smooth limit Finslerian metric as t approaches the finite time T.As a consequence of this result one can show that in a compact Finsler manifold the curvature tensor along the Ricci flow blows up in a short time.     

Experimental study and nuclear model calculation for 65Zn production

Excitation functions and theoretical yields via charge particle induced reactions were evaluated using EMPIRE-3.2.2 and ALICE/ASH codes and the obtained results have been discussed and compared with the available reported experimental data. It has been verified that ^natCu(p,n)⁶⁵Zn reaction is the optimum ⁶⁵Zn production route. The ⁶⁵Zn was produced using ^natCu(p,xn) ⁶⁵Zn reaction in the energy range of 16.8 → 12.2 MeV with the thick target yield of 0.15 ± 0.005 MBq/μA h. The ⁶⁵Zn radionuclide was purified by anion exchange chromatography.

     

Extensive Structure–Activity Relationship Study of Albicidin's C-Terminal Dipeptidic p-Aminobenzoic Acid Moiety

Albicidin is a recently described natural product that strongly inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase. The pronounced activity, particularly against Gram-negative bacteria, turns it into a promising lead structure for an antibacterial drug. Hence, structure–activity relationship studies are key for the in-depth understanding of structural features/moieties affecting gyrase inhibition, antibacterial activity and overcoming resistance. The 27 newly synthesized albicidins give profound insights into possibilities for variations of the C-terminus. Furthermore, in the present study, a novel derivative has been identified as overcoming resistance posed by the Klebsiella-protease AlbD. Structural modifications include, for example, azahistidine replacing the previous instable cyanoalanine as the central amino acid, as well as a triazole amide bond isostere between building blocks D and E.     

Pure pursuit navigation on Riemannian manifolds

Here, the Pure Pursuit navigation on Riemannian manifolds is studied and the time optimal trajectories of this process are found. It has been shown that these trajectories are geodesics of a non-Randers type Finsler metric, known in the literature as Matsumoto metric. A geometrical approach to kinematics in control theory is illustrated and the inverse problem is formulated.     

Harmonic vector fields on Landsberg manifolds

Let (M,F)$(M,F)$ be a compact boundaryless Landsberg manifold. In this work, a necessary and sufficient condition for a vector field on (M,F)$(M,F)$ to be harmonic is obtained. Next, on a compact boundaryless Finsler manifold of zero flag curvature, a necessary and sufficient condition for a vector field to be harmonic is found. Furthermore, the nonexistence of harmonic vector fields on a compact Landsberg manifold is studied and an upper bound for the first de Rham cohomology group is obtained.
