Biological assays and theoretical density functional theory calculations of Rh(I), Ir(III), and Ru(II) complexes of chiral phosphinite ligand

Four metal complexes, IL-OPPh₂-Ru-p-cymene (3) , IL-OPPh₂-Ru-benzene (4) , IL-OPPh₂-Ir-Cp* (5) , IL-OPPh₂-Rh-COD (6) , have been evaluated for in vitro antioxidant activity such as 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and reducing power activity. Maximum scavenging activity (71.43%) was obtained with IL-OPPh₂-Ru-p-cymene, whereas IL-OPPh₂-Rh-COD showed the highest reducing power ability. The complexes were also studied for their antimicrobial activity against three Gram-positive and three Gram-negative bacteria. In addition, DNA binding of the complexes was evaluated using calf thymus DNA. Both Ru(II) complexes exhibited good DNA-binding activity while the other complexes did not have any activity. Furthermore, ab initio quantum calculations of four complexes were also carried out using density functional theory to better understand their chemical behaviors.

钴-PAR-曙红离子缔合物显色反应机理研究及应用

本文研究了在聚乙烯醇—乳化剂OP混合增溶剂存在下,Co2 —PAR—曙红离子缔合物的显色反应,提出了一种测定Co2 的新方法,并将其反应用于悬构子中痕量钴的测定,离子缔合物的最大吸收波长为515 nm,摩尔吸光系数ε=8.5×104L/m o l.cm.在测定条件下,钴含量在0μg~20μg/25 mL范围内成线性关系,符合比耳定律.     

Enumeration of 2-regular circulant graphs and directed double networks

We present a formula to enumerate non-isomorphic circulant digraphs of order n with connection sets of cardinality 2. This formula simplifies to C(n,2)=3×2^a−1−4 in the case when n=2^a(a≥3), and when n=p^a(where p is an odd prime and a≥1). The number of non-isomorphic directed double networks are also enumerated.     

Colorimetric determination of ofloxacin using unmodified aptamers and the aggregation of gold nanoparticles

A colorimetric method is presented for the determination of the antibiotic ofloxacin (OFL) in aqueous solution. It is based on the use of an aptamer and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). In the absence of OFL, the AuNPs are wrapped by the aptamer and maintain dispersed even at the high NaCl concentrations. The solution with colloidally dispersed AuNPs remains red and has an absorption peak at 520 nm. In the presence of OFL, it will bind to the aptamer which is then released from the AuNPs. Hence, AuNPs will aggregate in the salt solution, and color gradually turns to blue, with a new absorption peak at 650 nm. This convenient and specific colorimetric assay for OFL has a linear response in the 20 to 400 nM OFL concentration range and a 3.4 nM detection limit. The method has a large application potential for OFL detection in environmental and biological samples.

Model for thermal conductivity of composites with carbon nanotubes

This paper presents a model for evaluation of effective thermal conductivity for the composites with carbon nanotubes (CNT) having log-normal function of distribution of CNT, with direct effect over depolarization factor. The CNT are considered having cylindrical shape with L/d ratio very high. The model parameters are calculated in function of the data from literature. The influence of volume fraction of reinforced materials, of the aspect ratio of the particles included and of the ratio of the two thermal conductivities is presented.     

光波导元件检测二氧化硫气体的方法研究

将溴酚蓝(BPhB)薄膜固定在钾离子(K )交换玻璃光波导表面,研制光波导二氧化硫(SO2)气体传感器元件.该元件利用BPhB在酸性或碱性条件下对波长为632.8nm光的吸收不同,检测SO2气体.实验结果表明,BPhB薄膜对低浓度SO2有快速、可逆响应,在20-11970mg/m3浓度范围内有良好的线性响应.
