Given a planar vector field U which generates the Lie symmetry of some other vector field X, we prove a new criterion to control the stability of the periodic orbits of U. The problem is linked to a classical problem proposed by A.T. Winfree in the seventies about the existence of isochrons of limit cycles (the question suggested by the study of biological clocks), already answered by Guckenheimer using a different terminology. We apply our criterion to give upper bounds of the number of limit cycles for some families of vector fields as well as to provide a class of vector fields with a prescribed number of hyperbolic limit cycles. Finally we show how this procedure solves the problem of the hyperbolicity of periodic orbits in problems where other criteria, like the classical one of the divergence, fail. 相似文献

The generic isolated bifurcations for one-parameter families of smooth planar vector fields {Xμ} which give rise to periodic orbits are: the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation, the bifurcation from a semi-stable periodic orbit, the saddle-node loop bifurcation and the saddle loop bifurcation. In this paper we obtain the dominant term of the asymptotic behaviour of the period of the limit cycles appearing in each of these bifurcations in terms of μ when we are near the bifurcation. The method used to study the first two bifurcations is also used to solve the same problem in another two situations: a generalization of the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation to vector fields starting with a special monodromic jet; and the Hopf bifurcation at infinity for families of polynomial vector fields. 相似文献

In this paper we consider analytic vector fields X0 having a non-degenerate center point e. We estimate the maximum number of small amplitude limit cycles, i.e., limit cycles that arise after small perturbations of X0 from e. When the perturbation (Xλ) is fixed, this number is referred to as the cyclicity of Xλ at e for λ near 0. In this paper, we study the so-called absolute cyclicity; i.e., an upper bound for the cyclicity of any perturbation Xλ for which the set defined by the center conditions is a fixed linear variety. It is known that the zero-set of the Lyapunov quantities correspond to the center conditions (Caubergh and Dumortier (2004) [6]). If the ideal generated by the Lyapunov quantities is regular, then the absolute cyclicity is the dimension of this so-called Lyapunov ideal minus 1. Here we study the absolute cyclicity in case that the Lyapunov ideal is not regular. 相似文献

Consider the discrete dynamical system generated by a map F. It is said that it is globally periodic if there exists a natural number p such that F p (x)=x for all x in the phase space. On the other hand, it is called completely integrable if it has as many functionally independent first integrals as the dimension of the phase space. In this paper, we relate both concepts. We also give a large list of globally periodic dynamical systems together with a complete set of their first integrals, emphasizing the ones coming from difference equations. 相似文献

Consider a family of planar systems having a center at the origin and assume that for ε=0 they have an isochronous center. Firstly, we give an explicit formula for the first order term in ε of the derivative of the period function. We apply this formula to prove that, up to first order in ε, at most one critical period bifurcates from the periodic orbits of isochronous quadratic systems when we perturb them inside the class of quadratic reversible centers. Moreover necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of this critical period are explicitly given. From the tools developed in this paper we also provide a new characterization of planar isochronous centers. 相似文献
