Accurate prediction for electron affinities of the radicals derived from the halide benzene

The molecular structures and electron affinities of eight radicals derived from the halide benzene by removing a hydrogen atom have been determined using seven hybrid Hartree-Fock/density-functional methods. The basis set used in this work is of double-zeta plus polarization quality with additional diffuse s- and p-type functions, denoted as DZP++. These methods have been carefully calibrated [J. C. Rienstra-Kiracofe, G. S. Tschumper, H. F. Schaefer, S. Nandi, and G. B. Ellison, Chem. Rev. (Washington, D. C.) 102, 231 (2002)]. The geometries are fully optimized with each density-functional theory method and discussed, respectively. The three different types of the neutral-anion energy separations reported in this work are the adiabatic electron affinity, the vertical electron affinity, and the vertical detachment energy. The most reliable adiabatic electron affinities (with zero-point vibrational energy correction), obtained at the DZP++ B3LYP level of theory, are 1.74 eV (o-C6H4F), 1.39 eV (m-C6H4F), 1.34 eV (p-C6H4F), 1.78 eV (o-C6H4Cl), 1.53 eV (m-C6H4Cl), 1.45 eV (p-C6H4Cl), 2.06 eV (o-C6H3F2), and 2.04 eV (p-C6H3F2), respectively. Compared with the experimental values, the average absolute error of the B3LYP method is 0.03 eV. The BLYP, BP86, and BPW91 functionals also gave excellent predictions, with average absolute errors of 0.05, 0.08, and 0.08 eV, respectively.

研究了双金属氰化络合催化剂DMC催化环氧丙烷调节聚合的动力学 .通过测定反应过程体系压力的变化来决定聚合的起始速率 ,发现聚合反应速率与分子量调节剂浓度Tr的线性函数的 - 1次方成正比 .考察了DMC催化剂在反应不同阶段的远红外吸收变化 ,提出了聚合反应可能的反应历程 ,并推导出调节聚合的动力学方程 .研究结果表明调节聚合的动力学特点在于链引发是发生在催化剂与单体之间 ,而不是催化剂与调节剂之间     

羊八井50m2RPC实验及初步测试结果

介绍了羊八井50m²电阻板室(RPC)地毯实验的结构、安装和对其性能的初步测试.测试的结果表明RPC完全能够很好地在海拔4300m,气压594mbar的羊八井宇宙线观测站正常地运行.

Amino(oligo)thiophene-based environmentally sensitive biomembrane chromophores

There is a growing need for cellular imaging with fluorescent probes that emit at longer wavelengths to minimize the effects of absorption, autofluorescence, and scattering from biological tissue. In this paper a series of new environmentally sensitive hemicyanine dyes featuring amino(oligo)thiophene donors have been synthesized via aldol condensation between a 4-methylpyridinium salt and various amino(oligo)thiophene carboxaldehydes, which were, in turn, obtained from amination of bromo(oligo)thiophene carboxaldehyde. Side chains on these fluorophores impart a strong affinity for biological membranes. Compared with benzene analogues, these thiophene fluorophores show significant red shift in the absorption and emission spectra, offering compact red and near-infrared emitting fluorophores. More importantly, both the fluorescence quantum yields and the emission peaks are very sensitive to various environmental factors such as solvent polarity or viscosity, membrane potential, and membrane composition. These chromophores also exhibit strong nonlinear optical properties, including two-photon fluorescence and second harmonic generation, which are themselves environmentally sensitive. The combination of long wavelength fluorescence and nonlinear optical properties make these chromophores very suitable for applications that require sensing or imaging deep inside tissues.     

Decomposition of Analysis Operators and Frame Ranges for Continuous Frames

In this article, the measure space associated with a continuous frame is supposed to be σ-finite and positive, and a frame range is the range of the analysis operator for a continuous frame. Gabardo and Han in 2003 asked whether two frame ranges can both be contained in another one. To solve this problem, we give two decompositions of analysis operators and frame ranges for continuous frames respectively, which essentially establish a relationship between continuous frames and Hilbert-Schmidt operator valued frames. As applications, it follows that only separable Hilbert space can have a continuous frame, that there exists a continuous frame of Riesz-type if and only if the associated measure space is purely atomic, and that the sum of two frame ranges is still a frame range when the sum is closed. Finally, we construct a counterexample which shows that the Gabardo-Han problem is not necessarily true in general.
