Experimental studies on enhancing the pool boiling heat transfer coefficient of binary dilute mixtures of water/glycerol, water/MEG (Mono-ethylene glycol) and water/DEG (di-ethylene glycol) have been carried out. Some particular endothermic chemical reactions related to ammonium salts were used to enhance the pool boiling heat transfer coefficient, simultaneously with occurrence of pool boiling heat transfer. Accordingly, 100?g of Ammonium nitrate, ammonium perborate and Ammonium sulfate were selected to dissolve into mixtures. High and extreme solution enthalpies of each of these ammonium salt powders are employed to reduce the surface temperature around the horizontal cylinder locally. Results demonstrated that presence of ammonium salts into the mixtures deteriorates the surface temperature of cylinder and as the result, higher pool boiling heat transfer coefficient is reported for tested solutions. Results are also reported and compared for different ammonium salts to find the influence of inducing different enthalpies of solution on pool boiling heat transfer coefficient. Obtained results also indicated that presence of endothermic reaction besides the pool boiling heat transfer enhances the heat transfer coefficients in comparison with nucleate pool boiling phenomenon solely.  相似文献

Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis, Montgomery showed by meansof his pair correlation method that at least two-thirds of thezeros of Riemann's zeta-function are simple. Later he and Taylorimproved this to 67.25 percent and, more recently, Cheer andGoldston increased the percentage to 67.2753. Here we proveby a new method that if the Riemann and Generalized LindelöofHypotheses hold, then at least 70.3704 percent of the zerosare simple and at least 84.5679 percent are distinct. ac Conductivity measurements are carried out across the metal to insulator transition in NiAl0.7Cr0.7Fe0.6O4. The low frequency data is analyzed using Summerfield scaling theory for hopping conductivity. The exponent of the scaling behavior has significantly different values in the conducting and insulating regimes. The hopping frequency and the zero frequency conductivity are found to increase with temperature, slowly in the metallic regime and rapidly in the insulating regime.  相似文献

In this study, Marangoni flow and heat transfer enhancement in a heat pipe have been investigated. The experiments were carried out at different heat inputs. A constant temperature water bath was used at the condenser section at three temperature levels. Heat transfer coefficients and thermal resistances of the heat pipe were measured for pure water and water/butanol solutions. The experimental results confirmed that the heat pipe filled with butanol solutions showed better thermal performance than the water-filled heat pipe. At maximum heat flux, 25% heat transfer improvement was obtained when 7 wt% butanol solution was used instead of pure water.  相似文献

An experimental study performed to compare the results of different methods used in the literature for the calculation of heat transfer coefficient in double-tube heat exchangers. Then, a new fundamental approach was proposed which used the temperature profile and the local heat transfer coefficients. In this method, the heat transfer coefficient has been calculated for the total length of the heat exchanger including developing and fully developed regions. Numerous experimentations have been conducted in a double-tube heat exchanger. A significant difference observed between the results obtained from the suggested approach and those of the previous methods.  相似文献
