Based on the near-field filtration formulation, the paper identifies and quantifies the most important sources of interlaboratory error in multimode fibre attenuation measurements. Measures are proposed for the reduction of these errors, and it is estimated that a lower bound of about 0.04 dB should be possible under certain assumptions.  相似文献

Heat transfer with steam condensation under moderate pressure on the surface of a horizontal tube immersed in a bubbling layer was experimentally investigated. A copper test section 16 mm in outer diameter and 400 mm in length was placed in a bubbling column 455 mm in diameter. Experiments were made under pressures of 0.14–0.8 MPa, with void fraction 0.04–0.23, vapor superficial velocities 0.05–0.42 m/s, liquid-wall temperature differences 47–105 K, and heat flux densities 0.12–0.8 MW/m2. The heat transfer process in the bubbling layer is shown to be of a high intensity: with moderate values of steam content, heat transfer coefficients reach 12–14 kW/(m2 · K). Data obtained showed that the known correlations do not consider the influence of pressure on heat transfer. For the first time, data on radial steam content distribution under pressures higher than atmospheric were obtained by an electroprobe method. A table of experimental data is presented.  相似文献

The spatial performance variation of dye solar cell with standard liquid electrolyte was examined by dividing the cell into segments. Surprisingly large and permanent performance differences were found in different parts of the cell leading to significant losses in the overall cell efficiency. The decrease of open circuit voltage along the electrolyte filling direction suggests that 4-tert-butylpyridine is adsorbed non-uniformly as the electrolyte passes through the dyed TiO2 layer during the filling process. The result indicates that non-uniform electrolyte adsorption may limit the up-scaling of dye solar cells, which calls for the examination of electrolyte filling techniques and electrolyte compositions less prone to this effect.  相似文献

Active vaccination can be effective as a post-exposure prophylaxis, but the rapidity of the immune response induced, relative to the incubation time of the pathogen, is critical. In this paper, we propose and simulate 2 OCDM × 4 WDM transmission system for a millimeter-wave (60 GHz) over fiber system to be used in broadband wireless access networks (BWANs). The general system setup is devised and the necessary building blocks identified. Results gathered (for a 155 Mbit/s per user system) under worst case parameter specifications and settings suggest indicate that system performance is severely limited by optical multiuser interference (OMUI) penalties. Several methods to reduce the OMUI limitations are described. These methods should ensure that this transmission scheme possible wavelength-reuse option for future MMW BWANs.  相似文献
