We solve the problem of the normal and transverse shear in an anisotropic monolith during the excavation of a stratum of solid
mineral. It is shown that the stress perturbation field in the rock is due to the whole extent of the excavated portion of
the stratum. We study way in which the friction that arises between the interacting rock of the roof and the floor influences
the strain and stress fields as the front of the excavation evolves, and also the influence of the extent of the excavated
portion of the rock stratum on the magnitude of the accumulated tangential displacements. Three figures.

Four procedures for the covalent immobilization of heparin (Hp) on a collagen film (CF) have been investigated. In three of them (methods (I–A, B, C), the CF was first treated with epichlorohydrin and ammonia and the Hp was added with the aid of CMBC (method I–A), by reductive amination in the presence of NaCH CN (method I–B), and with the aid of CMEC after succinylation (method I–C). In the fourth procedure (method II), the CF was activated by treatment with alkali and the Hp was added with the aid of CMEC. The results of the experimental studies and numerical simulation of the switching channel development dynamics in planar structures on the basis of vanadium dioxide are reported. The obtained data on the variation of the temperature in the channel with time and of the current arisen after the pulsed load, and on the times of transition from the high-resistance to the low-resistance state and back are analyzed in order to determine the switching mechanism and to predict the functional characteristics of the switchable vanadium- oxide structures as promising materials for the creation of relaxation generators that can serve as prototypes of neural oscillators. Oxyhalides Ba2InO3F, Ba2InO3Cl, and Ba2InO3Br are synthesized, and their phase homogeneity is confirmed by the method of X-ray diffraction. The influence of the nature of a halide ion on the crystal-lattice parameters and on the In–O bond lengths is established.
