The polyaddition of fluorine‐containing bis(epoxide)s and fluorine‐containing triazine di(aryl ether)s were examined to give the corresponding fluorine‐containing poly(cyanurate)s. It was observed that the synthesized fluoropolymers had good thermal stabilities and good film‐forming properties. The glass transition temperatures (Tg's) and refractive‐indices (nD's) of synthesized polymers were determined by differential scanning calorimetry and ellipsometry, respectively, and it was found that the values of Tg's and nD's were supported by their fluorine containing ratios and skeletons. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The ring‐opening copolymerization of a glycidyl ester derivative having a benzophenone group and the donor–acceptor norbornadiene (D‐A NBD) dicarboxylic acid, 5‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐1,4,6,7,7‐pentamethyl‐2,5‐norbornadiene‐2,3‐dicarboxylic acid, monoglycidyl ester derivatives with D‐A NBD dicarboxylic anhydride using tetraphenylphosphonium bromide as a catalyst proceeded smoothly to give novel self‐photosensitizing NBD polymers in good yields. The molecular weight of these polyesters was about 4,000, and lower than that of analogous NBD polymers having no benzophenone group. All the synthesized NBD polymers isomerized smoothly to the corresponding quadricyclane (QC) polymers upon UV irradiation in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution and in the film state. The rate of the photoisomerization of the D‐A NBD moieties in these polymers was higher than that of the D‐A NBD moieties in the polymer having no photosensitizing group. Furthermore, the rate of the photoisomerization of the D‐A NBD moieties in these polymers was also higher than that of the NBD polymer with low molecular weight photosensitizer in dilute solution. The photo‐irradiated polymers having QC moieties released thermal energies of 146–180 J/g. The D‐A NBD moieties contained in these NBD polymers possessed fair to good fatigue resistance. The degradation of the NBD moieties in these polymers was 15–30% after 50 repeated cycles of interconversion. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The addition reaction of oxiranes ( 26a—e ) with carbon dioxide (CO2) was performed using insoluble polystyrene beads containing pendant quaternary ammonium or phosphonium salts as catalysts under atmospheric pressure. The reaction of 26a—e with CO2 proceeded smoothly catalyzed by 1–2 mol % of the polymer-supported quaternary onium salts to give the corresponding cyclic carbonates ( 27a—e ) in high yields at 80–90°C. In this reaction system, the catalytic activity of the polymer-supported quaternary onium salts was strongly affected by the following factors: degree of ring substitution (DRS) of the onium salt residues to the polymer, degree of crosslinking (DC) of the polystyrene beads, chain length of the alkylene spacer between the polymer back-bone and the onium salt, hydrophobicity of the alkyl group on the onium salts, and kind of onium salts. That is, the polymer-supported quaternary phosphonium salts with low DRS and DC and with long alkylene spacer chain were found to have higher catalytic activity than low molecualr weight quaternary onium salts. The above polymer-supported catalysts can easily be separated at the end of a reaction by filtration and can be reused for at least seven runs. It was also found that the rate of reaction was proportional to the products of catalyst concentration and oxirane concentration. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Addition reactions of pendant epoxide groups in poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) with various active esters such as 1-benzotriazolyl benzoate, S-(2-benzoxazolyl) thiobenzoate, S-(2-benzothiazolyl) thiobenzoate, 4-nitrophenyl benzoate (4NPB), and S-phenyl thiobenzoate (PTB) were carried out using quaternary salts as catalysts. The reactions of PGMA with those active esters proceeded in diglyme at 100°C for 24 h quantitatively without the formation of 2-hydroxyl pendant groups in the polymer when 10 mol % of tetraethylammonium bromide was used as a catalyst. Furthermore, it was found that the respective quaternary salts have higher catalytic activity than tertiary amines in the reaction of PGMA with the active esters, and the reaction of PGMA with 4NPB gave the corresponding polymer with the highest conversion by addition of tetrabutylammonium bromide as a catalyst, while tetraethylammonium chloride showed the highest activity for the reaction of PGMA with PTB. In addition, the rate of reaction of PGMA with 4NPB was proportional to third order kinetics of the epoxide concentration, the ester concentration and the catalyst concentration as follows: ?d[Epoxide]/dt = ?[Ester]/dt = k3[Epoxide] [Ester] [Catalyst].  相似文献

4-Acetoxy-2-cyclohexenone (ACH) and 2-cyclohexenone-4-yl methacrylate (CHM) were obtained from the condensation reaction of 4-bromo-2-cyclohexenone (BCH) with acetic acid and methacrylic acid using 1,8-diazabicyclo-[5,4,0]-7-undecene (DBU), respectively. Poly(2-cyclohexenone-4-yl methacrylate) ( P-1 ) containing acid-sensitive 2-cyclohexenone-4-yl group was prepared from the radical polymerization of CHM and the esterification of poly(methacrylic acid) with BCH using DBU. Furthermore, P-1 and CHM copolymers ( P-2 and P-3 ) were easily synthesized from the radical polymerization of methacrylic acid and comonomers in dimethylsulfoxide using 1 mol % of 2,2′-azobis (isobutyronitrile) followed by esterification of the resulting polymers with BCH using DBU by one-pot method. The deprotection reaction of ACH and P-1 was carried out in dichloromethane using an acid catalyst. The reaction proceeded smoothly in solution to give phenol and the corresponding carboxylic acid. Therefore, the 2-cyclohexenone-4-yl group is a useful protecting group for carboxylic acids, because the protection and deprotection reactions are very easy. In the case of polymer films, however, the acid was trapped by carbonyl group on the 2-cyclohexenone-4-yl group, and did not cause the deprotection reaction. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The addition reaction of oxiranes ( 15a-d ) with carbon dioxide (CO2) was carried out using 1 mol % of soluble polymer-supported quaternary onium salts as catalysts under atmospheric pressure. The reaction of 15a-d with CO2 proceeded very smoothly to give the corresponding five-membered cyclic carbonates ( 16a-d ) in high yields at 90-100°C. The catalytic activity of the soluble polymer-supported quaternary onium salts was strongly affected by the following factors: kind of reaction solvent, degree of introduction of the pendant onium salt residues in the polymer chain, and type of alkyl group on the onium salts due to the balance between lipophilicity and steric hindrance of the onium salt residue. Furthermore, these soluble polymer-supported quaternary onium salts were found ordinarily to have higher catalytic activity than low molecular weight quaternary onium salts under the same reaction conditions. It was also found that the rate of reaction was proportional both to catalyst concentration and to oxirane concentration. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The ring‐opening copolymerization of donor–acceptor norbornadiene (D–A NBD) dicarboxylic acid monoglycidyl ester derivatives with D–A NBD dicarboxylic acid anhydride was performed with tetraphenylphosphonium bromide as a catalyst in toluene to produce new norbornadiene (NBD) polyesters containing D–A NBD moieties in the main chain and in the side chain in one step in good yields. The photoisomerization of the D–A NBD moieties in these polyesters proceeded very smoothly to give the corresponding quadricyclane groups. Because these NBD polyesters contained many NBD moieties in the polymer chain, they had the highest capacity for heat storage in the D–A NBD polymers reported so far. The stored thermal energy of the irradiated polyesters was evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry analysis to be approximately 150–190 J/g. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Divinyl ether monomers containing phosphorous residues were synthesized by the addition reaction of glycidyl vinyl ether (GVE) with various phosphonic dichlorides or dichlorophosphates with quaternary onium salts as catalysts. The reaction of GVE with phenylphosphonic dichloride gave bis[1‐(chloromethyl)‐2‐(vinyloxy)ethyl]phenylphosphonate ( 1a ) in a 77% yield. The polycondensation of 1a with terephthalic acid was also carried out with 1,8‐diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undecene‐7 (DBU) as a condensing agent to afford the corresponding phosphorus‐containing polyester. A multifunctional monomer containing both vinyl ether groups and methacrylate groups was prepared by the reaction of 1a with methacrylic acid with DBU. The photoinitiated cationic polymerization of these vinyl ether compounds proceeded rapidly with bis[4‐(diphenylsulfonio)phenyl]sulfide‐bishexafluorophosphate as the cationic photoinitiator without a solvent upon ultraviolet irradiation. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The acetyl esterified calixarene (CA) derivatives were prepared from calix[4]resorcinarene (CRA), and ptert‐butylcalixarene (BCA[n], n = 4, 6, 8), respectively. Using these CA derivatives as curing agents, the thermal curing reactions of two multifunctional epoxy resins (jER 828, 186 g/equiv., and ESCN, 193.7 g/equiv.) were investigated. The temperatures of glass transition (Tg) and decomposition (T) were measured by DSC and TGA, respectively. Based on the yields, Tgs, and Tds of the thermal cured jER 828 epoxy resin with CRA‐E100, the curing conditions were optimized to be tetrabutylphosphonium bromide (TBPB) as catalyst in NMP at 160 °C for 15 h. Under this curing condition, the cured materials of jER 828 or ESCN using various CA derivatives as curing agents were prepared. Except for BCA4 derivatives, the yields of thermal curing reaction were higher than 90%. Tgs and Ts of the resultant cured materials were in the range of 113–248 °C and 363–404 °C, respectively. These results mean that the cured epoxy resins with excellent Tgs were successfully formed by using CA derivatives as curing agents. It was also found that the Tgs of cured epoxy resins were strongly affected by the degree of esterification of CA derivatives. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
