N-Succinimidyl ester functionalized polypyrrole-coated polystyrene latex particles (PSE-PPyNSE) were prepared by the in situ copolymerization of pyrrole and the active ester-functionalized pyrrole (pyrrole-NSE) in the presence of polystyrene latex particles. Polystyrene microspheres were prepared by emulsion polymerization (PSE) leading to particles having a diameter of 450 nm. These PSE particles were precoated with poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) prior to the in situ copolymerization of pyrrole and pyrrole-NSE. The initial comonomer concentration fractions were 25/75, 50/50 and 75/25 for pyrrole and pyrrole-NSE, respectively. The PPy-coated PSE particles were characterized in terms of morphology, particle size, electrophoretic mobility and chemical composition. The study of morphology by means of scanning electron microscopy showed roughening of the underlying PSE particles owing to the addition of PPyNSE, the overlayer thickness of which was estimated to be around 7 nm. Moreover, loading PPyNSE overlayers resulted in a shift of the electrophoretic mobility from –5.31 m cm/V s to a very small but positive value (0.082–0.112 m cm/V s). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and IR spectroscopy permitted the detection of pyrrole-NSE repeat units at the surface indicating that pyrrole and pyrrole-NSE did indeed copolymerize. The PSE-PPyNSE particles were further evaluated as bioadsorbents of human serum albumin used as a test protein. For this study, PSE-PPyNSE50 particles, synthesized from a comonomer feed ratio of 50/50 in pyrrole/pyrrole-NSE, were used and were shown to attach efficiently human serum albumin macromolecules with a maximum amount of 0.2 mg m–2.

Partial oxidation of methane to formaldehyde and methanol was studied at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range of 700-750 °C using heteropolycompound catalysts (NH4)6HSiMo11FeO40, (NH4)4PMo11FeO39, and H4PMo11VO40, which were prepared and characterized by various analysis techniques such as infrared, visible UV, XRD and DTA. O2 or N2O was used as the oxidizing agent, and the principal products of the reaction were CH3OH, CH2O, CO, CO2, and water. The conversion and the selectivity of products depend strongly on the reaction temperature, the nature of oxidizing agent, and the composition of catalyst.  相似文献

The problem of nonlinear variable charge dust acoustic waves in a dusty plasma with trapped ions is revisited. The correct non-isothermal ion charging current is presented for the first time based on the orbit motion limited (OML) approach. The variable dust charge is then expressed in terms of the Lambert function and we take advantage of this new transcendental function to investigate nonlinear localized dust acoustic waves in a charge varying dusty plasma with trapped ions more rigorously.  相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis of new magnetic, reactive polystyrene/polypyrrole core/shell latex particles. The core consists of a polystyrene microsphere containing gamma-Fe2O3 superparamagnetic nanoparticles (PSmag), and the shell is made of reactive N-carboxylic acid-functionalized polypyrrole (PPyCOOH). These PSmag-PPyCOOH latex particles, average diameter 220 nm, were prepared by copolymerization of pyrrole (Py) and the active carboxyl-functionalized pyrrole (PyCOOH) in the presence of PSmag particles. PNVP was used as a steric stabilizer. The functionalized polypyrrole-coated PSmag particles were characterized in terms of their particle size, surface morphology, chemical composition, and electrochemical and magnetic properties using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), cyclic voltammetry, and SQUID magnetometry. Activation of the particle surface carboxyl groups was achieved using 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide (EDC) and N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS), which helps transform the carboxyl groups into activated ester groups (NSE). The activated particles, PSmag-PPyNSE, were further evaluated as bioadsorbents of biotin used as a model biomolecule. It was shown that biotin was immobilized at the surface of the PSmag-PPyNSE particles by forming interfacial amide groups. The assemblies of PSmag-PPyCOOH particles on glass plates were further investigated. When no magnetic field is applied, the particles assemble into 3D colloidal crystals. In contrast, under a magnetic field, one-particle-thick chains gathered in hedgehog-like architectures are obtained. Furthermore, PSmag-PPyCOOH coated ITO electrodes were shown to be electroactive and electrochemically stable, thus offering potentialities for creating novel high-specific-area materials for biosensing devices where the conducting polymer component would act as the transducer through its conductive properties.  相似文献

Using the mean field Poisson–Boltzmann (PB) and the Ornstein–Zernike (OZ) integral equation theories, we have determined the macroions effective interactions and the structure of charged stabilized colloidal suspension for a large charge range of macroion and screening parameter values. The renormalized parameters are calculated by solving the PB equation written in the framework of the modified Jellium model. The structures have been determined by solving the OZ equation coupled with a self-consistent integral equation, which is related to the Verlet’s modified closure. Our results of the effective parameters are in good agreement with the experimental data, also the structure presents acceptable improvement compared to the Monte Carlo simulation data, against the HNC structure results, PACS: 61.20 Gy, 82.70 Dd, and 82.70 Kj.  相似文献

Polypyrrole-coated polystyrene latex particles bearing reactive N-amino functional groups (PS-PPyNH2) were prepared by the in-situ copolymerization of pyrrole (Py) and the active amino-functionalized pyrrole (PyNH2) in the presence of 1.33 microm-diameter polystyrene (PS) latex particles. These particles were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene using poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone), PNVP, as a steric stabilizer. The functionalized polypyrrole-coated PS particles (PS-PPyNH2) were characterized in terms of their particle size and surface morphology using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) detected pyrrole-NH2 repeat units at the surface of the latex particles, indicating that this monomer had indeed copolymerized with pyrrole. The core-shell structure of the PS-PPyNH2 particles was confirmed by etching the polystyrene core in THF, leading to the formation of hollow conducting polymer capsules. The PS-PPyNH2 particles were then decorated with citrate-stabilized gold nanoparticles via electrostatic interactions. Furthermore, etching of the polystyrene core resulted in the formation of gold-decorated PPyNH2 hollow capsules.  相似文献
