Multiwalled carbon nanotubes were modified by carboxy groups. Four independent methods for the determination of the degree
of functionalization of the surface were proposed: 13C NMR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, titrimetry, and fluorimetry. The first two methods show the total content of carboxy
groups in the sample, and the latter two methods give information about the content of the surface groups only.

The negative-mass (space-charge) instability is studied within the model of a flat thin electron beam moving along the stationary uniform magnetic field in the case of nonsymmetrical perturbations. Methods for obtaining cadmium selenide and gold nanoparticles have been developed. The sizes of the nanoparticles are determined and the morphology, structure, and chemical composition of these nanoparticles and their ensembles are studied by a complex of structural methods: electron diffraction, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and small-angle X-ray scattering. Gold nanoparticles are mainly spherical and have an average size of 10 nm. They are single-phase and have an fcc crystal structure. Samples of synthesized CdSe nanoparticles contain monodisperse spherical particles 12 nm in size with a wurtzite structure. The deposition of nanoparticles on a carbon substrate is accompanied by their self-organization into a closely packed two-dimensional structure with a pronounced texture in which all nanoparticles are oriented in the [001] direction perpendicularly to the carbon substrate plane. 相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) of the conic and cylindrical structure were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in the initial state and after carboxylation and decarboxylation reactions. The O=C—O and C—O groups were revealed on the surface of the chemically modified samples. It was found that both the carboxylated and decarboxylated cylindrical CNTs contain a smaller amount of oxygen than the corresponding conic CNTs apparently due to differences in their structures. 相似文献
