In 1994, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) initiated a 5-year Co-ordinated Research Project (CRP) to determine
geographical and racial differences in peak bone mineral density (BMD) in men and women aged 15-49 years. The study demonstrates
that there are distinct global differences in BMD at the hip and spine in both men and women approximating to one population
standard deviation between populations with the highest and lowest BMD. These differences persist following adjustments for
age, sex and body size. Such information is valuable in understanding the reasons for global differences in fracture rate
and predicting future trends in fracture incidence.

This paper deals with the small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) investigation on solution-quenched PH13-8 Mo stainless steel.
From the nature of the variation of the functionality of the profiles for varying specimen thickness and also from the transmission
electron microscopy (TEM), it has been established that the small-angle scattering signal predominantly originates from the
block-like metallic carbide precipitates in the specimen. The contribution due to double Bragg reflection is not significant
in the present case. The single scattering profile has been extracted from the experimental profiles corresponding to different
values of specimen thickness. In order to avoid complexity and non-uniqueness of the multi-parameter minimization for randomly
oriented polydisperse block-like precipitate model, the data have been analyzed assuming randomly oriented polydisperse cylindrical

A four-noded rectangular element with seven degrees of freedom at each node is developed for buckling analysis of laminated plate structures having any number of layers with a constant thickness of individual layers. The displacement model is so chosen that it can explain adequately the parabolic distribution of transverse shear stresses and the non-linearity of in-plane displacements across the thickness. A geometrical stiffness matrix is developed using in-plane stresses. A wide range of plates from thick to thin are examined under uniaxial loading conditions. The results are compared with the existing analytical and numerical solutions. The present formulations confirm its applicability for buckling analysis of a wide range of plates. 相似文献

Within the framework of the covariant simultaneous approach of quantum field theory, a complex system of two identical scalar particles with third- and fourth-order self-action is examined. Explicit forms of the retarded component of the Green's two-time function and of the energy-dependent interaction operator of the system are obtained in the lowest orders of perturbation theory. The analogue of the 0+ ground state in 118Sn has been observed in the compound nucleus 118Sb through 117Sn(p,n γ) 117Sb reaction. The neutron decays of this analogue resonance have been studied from the deexciting γ-rays of the residual nucleus 117Sb. From off resonance excitation functions, spin assignments have been made to states in 117Sb, on the basis of Hauser-Feshbach formalism. Gamma radiolysis of oxygenated 1–10 mM azide solutions was carried out at various pH values. In oxygenated 10 mM azide solutions,
H2O2 and NO

were observed as radiolytic products while NH3 was not. The concentration of H2O2 reached its maximum level at a dose of 1 kGy, whereas NO

yield increased non-linearly beyond 2 kGy in this system. Both in aerated and oxygenated systems, G(NO

Summary Eriochromecyanine RC has been used as chromogenic reagent for the photometric determination of rhodium(III) on a micro scale. A coloured Rh(III)-ECRC chelate with
max 530 nm at pH 4.0 (25°C) is formed. A detailed study has been made concerning to characteristics, composition and stability of the chelate. Standard deviation was ±1.17%.
