1,1,3-Trimethyl-3-phenylindan as a Luminescent Additive to a Plastic Scintillator Based on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

The luminescence and scintillation properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) containing 1,1,3-trimethyl-3-phenylindan were studied.     

Reaction of conjugated dienes with trimethyldeuterosilane

Conclusions A study was made of the reaction of butadiene, isoprene, and 3-methyl-1,4,6-heptatriene with trimethyldeuterosilane, and the location of the deuterium atom in the alkenylsilane molecule was established on the basis of the¹H and¹³C NMR spectral data, and also the mass-spectral data for dissociative electron capture. Influence of Dibenzyl-o-carborane on Radiation Aging of Polymethyl Methacrylate

Radiation aging of polymethyl methacrylate produced in the presence of dibenzyl-o-carborane was studied. The influence of dibenzyl-o-carborane addition on the thermomechanical properties of the resulting polymer was analyzed.     

Phase-transfer catalysis in reactions with the participation of polyvinyl chloride

When polyvinyl chloride is dehydrochlorinated under conditions of phase transfer catalysis, the nature of the interface determines the supramolecular structure of the synthesized polyacetylene, the packing density of crystalline regions in the polyacetylene, and the chemical properties of the polymer. Negative-ion mass spectra of heteroorganic compounds of group IV

Conclusions The dissociative resonance capture of electrons by the molecules of heteroorganic compounds of group IV was studied. It was shown that a new resonance state is observed with the introduction of a vinyl substituent. The nonadditive increase in the relative cross section for the formation of the negative ion with increase in the number of vinyl substituents is due to the stabilization of the molecule negative ion by * -* interaction.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 3, pp. 566–571, March, 1986.     

Use of catalytic systems based on Ni in hydrogermylation of some 1,3-dienes with diethylbromogermane

Conclusions A catalytic system composed of Ni(acac)₂ and PPh₃ is an efficient catalyst for the hydrogermylation of conjugated dienes of variable structure with diethylbromogermane. Some Properties of Crystalline Polyacetylenes of Various Density

The resistance of crystalline polyacetylenes of various density to oxidants and high temperatures was studied. The electrophysical and magnetic properties of these polymers and of the products of their thermolysis were determined.
