Photopolymerization of cadmium 10,12-pentacosadiynoate (CdDA) in Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films, with the molecular packing well arranged by moderate preannealing, was investigated with near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy. Greenish films of polydiacetylene with an absorption wavelength of 705 nm were obtained through the photopolymerization of preannealed monomer LB films, and this resulted in an extended π-conjugate system based on the well-ordered monomer in a two-dimensional arrangement. The electronic structures of the polydiacetylenes were found to be correlated to the variation of the molecular arrangements in the films from the changes in the NEXAFS spectra through photopolymerization in the LB films. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. -Cyclodextrin with two sodium anthranilate moieties (1) has been prepared as a sensor for detecting organic compounds including terpenoids and steroids. Compound1 shows a pure monomer fluorescence whose intensity is increased or decreased upon addition of the guest species examined. In this system, the sodium anthranilate moieties act either as a spacer, which enables the cyclodextrin to form a 1:1 host-guest complex by narrowing the -cyclodextrin cavity, or as a hydrophobic cap.1 recognizes steroids with much higher sensitivity than terpenoids, in which the appended moieties act as a hydrophobic cap for terpenoids and a spacer for steroids, respectively.  相似文献

A reaction of the P‐chiral compound (S,S)‐1,2‐bis(boranato(tert‐butyl)methylphosphino)ethane with an azobenzene derivative gave stimuli‐responsive polymers with P‐chiral phosphines in the main chain. This is the first example of a stimuli‐responsive P‐chiral polymer. The polymer isomerized from the trans to the cis form upon UV irradiation and reverted to the trans form reversibly. The polymer was able to coordinate to platinum, and the resulting polymer complex exhibited the Cotton effect owing to the chirality of the phosphorus atoms. The structure of the P‐chiral polymer obtained could be changed reversibly by light and thermal stimuli, and the polymer chain was induced to rotate helically when complexed with transition metals through the chiral phosphorus atoms.  相似文献

A poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm)-like biodegradable thermosensitive polydepsipeptide, poly[Glc-Asn(N-isopropyl)], was synthesized by introducing an isopropyl amide group into poly[Glc-Asn]. Poly[Glc-Asn(N-isopropyl)] was degraded in vitro by cleavage of the ester bonds in the main chain in water at room temperature. The non-toxic nature of the polymer and its degradation products, coupled with a cloud point at 29 degrees C in water, make this polymer attractive for biomedical implant applications.  相似文献

1-Benzoyl-2-methy1-3,4-dihydro-2-thianaphthalene (4a) underwent novel intermolecular 1,4-rearrangement in refluxing toluene to give an enol ether 5a, while rearrangement of 2-phenyl derivative 4e proceeded intramolecularly in refluxing xylene to afford a 1,4-rearranged enol ether 5b. The retention behavior of lymphocyte subpopulations, B cell, T cell and null cell, derived from rat spleen to polyamine-graft-poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) copolymer (HA) surface was investigated, focusing on the conformational transition of the polyamine side chain as well as the protonation of amino groups in the polyamine grafts. Furthermore, the availability of HA was discussed as a column adsorbent for separation of lymphocyte subpopulations derived from spleen. The conformational transition of polyamine grafts significantly influenced the mode of retention of lymphocyte subpopulations. When polyamine grafts existed in an aggregated conformation (protonatin degree α < 0.5), the retention of lymphocyte subpopulations was decreased in the order B cell> null cell> T cell. On the other hand, when polyamine existed in an extended conformation into the aqueous interior from the matrix interface (α > 0.5), T cell retention became greater than null cell retention, resulting in a decreased B cell> T cell> null cell order. These results indicate that the differential retention of spleen lymphocyte subpopulations is attributed to their differential responses to the change in matrix interface accompanied by the protonation of amino groups. Furthermore, spleen lymphocytes were compared with lymph node lymphocytes in terms of resolution efficacy by an HA copolymer column.  相似文献

Crown ether-modified polyethylenimines (PEI-CR) were prepared to elucidate their cation binding efficiency and selectivity by liquid-liquid and solid-liquid extraction methods. With alkali metal cations it was found that polyethylenimines containing benzo-15-crown-5 moieties (Ia and Ib) extracted all cations examined more efficiently than their monomeric analogs, especially in the cases of K+ and Rb+ cations. The solid-liquid extraction revealed clearly that the polymers complexed with K+ and Rb+ cations according to a 1:2 cation-to-crown stoichiometry. The high selectivities of the polymers for K+ and Rb+ were interpreted in terms of the favourable conformation of the polymer chain for the formation of intramolecular 1:2 complexes. On the contrary, these polymers bound alkali earth cations less effectively with low selectivities.  相似文献

Acryloyl-type polymer fixing 1-β-carbonylethyl-5-fluorouracil residues through D -glucofuranoses via ester bonds was synthesized by means of polymerization of the corresponding monomer and polymer reaction. In order to provide the water-soluble objective polymer, the copolymerization of the acryloyl-type monomer with acrylamide was carried out. The extent of release of 5-FU residues from the copolymer was investigated in the enzyme or nonenzyme system in vitro. Furthermore, the antitumor activities of the water-insoluble homopolymer and water-soluble copolymer obtained were tested in vivo.  相似文献

Various polymeric phosphonium salts and the corresponding low-molecular-weight model compounds were prepared and their antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were explored by the viable cell counting method in sterile distilled water. Antibacterial activity of the polymers was found to be higher than that of the corresponding model compounds, particularly against S. aureus. Furthermore, the polymeric phosphonium salt exhibited a higher activity by 2 orders of magnitude than the polymeric quaternary ammonium salt with the same structure except the cationic part. Compounds with the longest alkyl chain (octyl) studied were found to exhibit particularly high activity, and this finding may be ascribed to the contribution of the increased hydrophobicity of the compounds to the cidal activity. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
