Reaction of Chloroacetone with Cytisine and d-Pseudoephedrine Alkaloids

Alkylation of cytisine and d-pseudoephedrine alkaloids with chloroacetone was performed. The target product of the reaction with cytisine is aminoacetone and of the reaction with d-pseudoephedrine, a morpholine derivative.     

Crystal and molecular structure of 2e-diethylamino-3e,4e-dimethyl-5e-phenyl-2a-thio-1,3,2-oxazaphospholane

The results of an x-ray structural investigation of 2e-diethylamino-3e,4e-dimethyl-5e-phenyl-2a-thio-1,3,2-oxazaphospholane are discussed. Synthesis of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-{2-[1-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)ethoxy]ethyl}-cytisinecarbothioamide and steric structure of its hydrolysis product, <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-(2-hydroxyethyl)cytisinecarbothioamide

The reaction of 2-[1-(prop-2-yn-1-yloxy)ethoxy]ethyl isothiocyanate with alkaloid cytisine gave the corresponding thiourea derivative which was subjected to partial hydrolysis on heating in boiling aqueous ethanol or complete hydrolysis in the presence of a catalytic amount of an acid. The structure of the hydrolysis product, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)cytisinecarbothioamide, was proved by X-ray analysis.     

Synthesis of n-aminoglycosides derived from alkaloid cytisine,their biological activity and crystal structure of N-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)cytisine

Optimal conditions were found for the synthesis of a number of new N-aminoglycosides of the alkaloid cytisine, using commercially available monosaccharides, namely, D-glucose, D-galactose, D-xylose, and L-arabinose. X-ray structural analysis indicated an absolute β-anomeric configuration of N-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)cytisine in the crystalline state. The comparative cytotoxicity of cytisine and some of its N-aminoglycosides was determined.     

Reaction of d-Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride with Anisaldehyde in the Presence of Sodium Cyanide

2-(p-Methoxyphenyl)-3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-1,3-oxadiazolidine was synthesized, and its steric structure was studied by X-ray diffraction.

Synthesis and steric structure of 3,4-dimethyl-2-(3-methyl-1-phenylbuta-1,2-dienyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,2λ<Superscript>5</Superscript>-oxazaphospholane 2-oxide

Allenic 1,3,2-oxazaphospholanes on the basis of d-pseudoephedrine were synthesized. The steric structure of 3,4-dimethyl-2-(3-methyl-1-phenylbuta-1,2-dienyl)-5-phenyl-1,3,2λ⁵-oxazaphospholane 2-oxide was determined by X-ray diffraction.
