Electrochemical synthesis of carbonyl- and phosphoryl-containing methano[60]fullerenes

The combined electrochemical reduction of fullerene C₆₀ in the presence of p-bromo-benzoyldibromomethane or bis(diisopropoxyphosphoryl)dibromomethane at a brass electrode in a mixed solvent o-dichlorobenzene-MeCN (3:1 v/v)/0.05 M Bu₄NBF₄ at room temperature affords 61-(p-bromobenzoyl)methano[60]fullerene or 61,61-bis(diisopropoxyphosphoryl)methano[60]fullerene, respectively, in 50% yields.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reactions of amides of arylphosphorous acids with acyl chlorides

C-substituted diethyleneimides of acids of phosphorus

Structure of the condensation product of benzalaniline with N,N-dimethylamide of dichloroacetic acid under darzens reaction conditions

Condensation of benzalaniline with N,N-dimethylamide of dichloroacetic acid under Darzens reaction conditions was used to obtain r-1, t-3-diphenyl-c-2-chloro-2-(NN-dimethylcarbamoyl)aziridine. The structure was established by x-ray diffraction analysis. Stabilization of the position of the substituents at the atoms of the aziridine ring by the hyperconjugation interaction of the unshared electron pair of the nitrogen atom with the antibonding orbital of the C-CI bond is discussed.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 189–192, February, 1994. Spin-adducts of radicals ·P(O)(OPri)2 and ·CMe3 with pyrrolidino[60]fullerenes studied by ESR spectroscopy

The addition of the ^·Bu^t (R¹) and ^·P(O)(OPrⁱ)₂ (R²) radicals to pyrrolidino[60]fullerenes C₆₀CH₂NMeCHX (X = C₆H₄N(CH₂CH₂Cl)₂, 2,6-(Bu^t)₂C₆H₂OH, PhC₆H₄, and indol-3-yl) was studied by ESR spectroscopy. The rate constants of R¹ radical addition to these compounds and dimerization of spin-adducts of the R¹ radicals with pyrrolidino[60]fullerenes were determined. Pyrrolidino[60]fullerenes manifest considerably higher reactivity toward the R¹ radicals than fullerene C₆₀ and methanofullerenes C₆₀CX¹X² (X¹ = X² = CO₂Et; X¹ = CO₂Me, X² = OP(OMe)₂, X¹ = X² = OP(OEt)₂).     

Synthesis and some properties of the methyl ester and N,N-diethylamide of 2-azido-5-phenyl-4-thiazolecarboxylic acid

The methyl ester and N,N-diethylamide of 2-azido-5-phenyl-4-thiazolecarboxylic acid were obtained by the reaction of the corresponding 4-substituted 2-hydrazino-5-phenylthiazole with NaNO₂ in acid media. IR and UV spectroscopy were used to show that the compounds synthesized retain azide form in both the crystalline state and in solution. The reaction of azides with dicarbonyl compounds gave derivatives of 2-[5-methyl-4-acetyl-or 2-[5-methyl-4-ethoxycarbonyl-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]-5-phenylthiazole-4-carboxylic acid.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 5, pp. 710–714, May, 1993.
