A low silica, barium borate glass-ceramic for use as seals in planar SOFCs containing 64 mol%BaO, 3 mol%Al2O3 and 3 mol%SiO2 was studied. Coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) between 275-550 °C, glass transition temperature (Tg), and dilatometric softening point (Ts) of the parent glass were 11.9 × 10−6 °C−1, 552 °C, and 558 °C, respectively. Glass-ceramic was produced by devitrification heat treatment at 800 °C for 100 h. It was found that nucleation heat treatment, seeding by 3 wt%ZrO2 as glass-composite and pulverization affected the amount, size and distribution of crystalline phases. SEM-EDS and XRD results revealed that crystalline phases presented in the devitrified glass-ceramic were barium aluminate (BaAl2O4), barium aluminosilicate (BaAl2Si2O8) possibly with boron associated in its crystal structure, and barium zirconate (BaZrO3). CTE of the devitrified glass-ceramic was in the range of (10.1-13.0) × 10−6 °C−1. Good adhesion was obtained both in the cases of glass and devitrified glass-ceramic with YSZ and AISI430 stainless steel. Interfacial phenomena between these components were discussed.  相似文献

Date palm fruit (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is commonly consumed around the world and has recently become an economical crop in Eastern Thailand, especially the Barhi cultivar that can be consumed as fresh fruit. To maintain genetic qualities, date palm is populated through cell culture. This leads to high production costs, while access to this technique is limited. Increasing date palm population by simple seed planting is currently of interest as an alternative for local farmers. Nevertheless, information on nutritive values, bioactive compounds, and health-promoting bioactivities of seed originating from date palm fruit is unavailable. Effects of different planting origins (cell culture origin (CO) and seed origin (SO)) of date palm fruits at the Khalal stage of Barhi cultivar were investigated for nutritive values, bioactive compounds, and in vitro health-promoting properties via key enzyme inhibitions against obesity (lipase), diabetes (α-amylase, α-glucosidase, and dipeptidyl peptidase-IV), Alzheimer’s disease (cholinesterases and β-secretase), and hypertension (angiotensin-converting enzyme). Waste seeds as a by-product from date palm production were also examined regarding these properties to increase seed marketing opportunities for future food applications and other health-related products. CO and SO exhibited insignificant differences in energy, fat, and carbohydrate contents. SO had higher protein, dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin E, and calcium contents than CO, while CO contained higher contents of fructose, glucose and maltose. Higher phenolic contents in SO led to greater enzyme inhibitory activities than CO. Interestingly, seeds of date palm fruits mostly contained higher nutritive values than the flesh. No carotenoids were detected in seeds but higher phenolic contents resulted in greater enzyme inhibitory activities than recorded for fruit flesh. Results suggest that appropriate planting of date palm can support the development of novel date palm fruit products, leading to expansion of economic opportunities and investment in date palm fruit agriculture.  相似文献

The effect of a small amount of poly(ethylene naphthalate) (PEN) in its blends with poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) on isothermal melt-crystallization kinetics and spherulitic morphology of the blends was thoroughly investigated. The maximum PEN content in the blends was 9 wt%. Due to the single composition-dependent glass transition temperature (Tg) that was observed for each blend, these blends appeared to be miscible in the amorphous state. After isothermal crystallization from the melt state, the neat PTT and its blends with PEN exhibited either double or triple melting endotherms. The triple endothermic peaks were observed in both the neat PTT and the blends when being crystallized at crystallization temperatures (Tc) of less than or equal to 195 °C. The equilibrium melting temperature () for the neat PTT was determined based on the linear Hoffman–Weeks extrapolative method to be 248 °C. Such values for the blends were found to decrease with the addition and increasing amount of PEN. Both the neat PTT and the blends were isothermally crystallized over the Tc range of 190–205 °C. At a given Tc, the 97PTT/3PEN blend exhibited a half-time of crystallization (t0.5) value that was lower, while it exhibited reciprocal half-time (), Avrami rate constant (KA), and spherulitic growth rate (G) values that were greater, than those of the neat PTT. With further increase in the PEN content, the t0.5 value increased, while the , KA, and G values decreased. Analysis of the G values based on the Lauritzen–Hoffman's (LH) secondary nucleation theory showed that the neat PTT and the 91PTT/9PEN blend exhibited a regime II→III transition at 194 °C (467.2 K), while no regime transition was observed for the other two blends. The lateral and the fold surface free energies (σ and σe) and the work of chain folding (q) for the neat PTT and the blends were 19.4, 30.2–46.3 erg cm−2, and 2.4–3.6 kcal mol−1, respectively. Lastly, the effect of both the Tc and the PEN content on morphology and texture of the PTT spherulites was also investigated and the results showed that the texture of the spherulites became coarser with increasing Tc and PEN content.  相似文献

The nonisothermal cold‐crystallization kinetics and subsequent melting behavior of poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) were investigated with differential scanning calorimetry. The Avrami, Tobin, and Ozawa equations were applied to describe the kinetics of the crystallization process. Both the Avrami and Tobin crystallization rate parameters increased with the heating rate. The Ozawa crystallization rate increased with the temperature. The ability of PTT to crystallize from the glassy state at a unit heating rate was determined with Ziabicki's kinetic crystallizability index, which was found to be about 0.89. The effective energy barrier describing the nonisothermal cold‐crystallization process of PTT was estimated by the differential isoconversional method of Friedman and was found to range between about 114.5 and 158.8 kJ mol?1. In its subsequent melting, PTT exhibited double‐melting behavior for heating rates lower than or equal to 10 °C min?1 and single‐melting behavior for heating rates greater than or equal to 12.5 °C min?1. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Designing solid-state electrolytes for proton batteries at moderate temperatures is challenging as most solid-state proton conductors suffer from poor moldability and thermal stability. Crystal–glass transformation of coordination polymers (CPs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) via melt-quenching offers diverse accessibility to unique properties as well as processing abilities. Here, we synthesized a glassy-state CP, [Zn3(H2PO4)6(H2O)3](1,2,3-benzotriazole), that exhibited a low melting temperature (114 °C) and a high anhydrous single-ion proton conductivity (8.0 × 10−3 S cm−1 at 120 °C). Converting crystalline CPs to their glassy-state counterparts via melt-quenching not only initiated an isotropic disordered domain that enhanced H+ dynamics, but also generated an immersive interface that was beneficial for solid electrolyte applications. Finally, we demonstrated the first example of a rechargeable all-solid-state H+ battery utilizing the new glassy-state CP, which exhibited a wide operating-temperature range of 25 to 110 °C.

Melt-quenched coordination polymer glass shows exclusive H+ conductivity (8.0 × 10−3 S cm−1 at 120 °C, anhydrous) and optimal mechanical properties (42.8 Pa s at 120 °C), enables the operation of an all-solid-state proton battery from RT to 110 °C.  相似文献
