玻璃陶瓷材料中Tm3+离子红外到蓝色上转换发光

系统研究了PbF2+GeO2+WO3ⅩⅣTmF3玻璃陶瓷材料中,在近红外光(1.06μm)激发下,Tm3+离子的发光特性.实验中观测到Tm3+离子的两组峰值位置分别在20920cm-1和22173cm-1的蓝色上转换发光,并证实这两组上转换发光分别与吸收三个和四个光子有关,同时建立了上转换发光的模型.为了选择最佳掺杂浓度,详细地测量了Tm3+离子峰值为20920cm-1的蓝色上转换发光强度与TmF3浓度的关系.

Synthesis and characterization of a polyfluorene containing carbazole and oxadiazole dipolar pendent groups and its application to electroluminescent devices

We have synthesized a blue‐light‐emitting polyfluorene (PF) derivative ( PF‐CBZ‐OXD ) that presents bulky hole‐transporting carbazole and electron‐transporting oxadiazole pendent groups functionalized at the C‐9 positions of alternating fluorene units. The results from photoluminescence and electrochemical measurements indicate that both the side chains and the PF main chain retain their own electronic characteristics in the copolymer. An electroluminescent device incorporating this polymer as the emitting layer was turned on at 4.5 V; it exhibited a stable blue emission with a maximum external quantum efficiency of 1.1%. Moreover, we doped PF‐CBZ‐OXD and its analogue PF‐TPA‐OXD with a red‐light‐emitting iridium phosphor for use as components of phosphorescent red‐light emitters to investigate the effect of the host's HOMO energy level on the degree of charge trapping and on the electrophosphorescent efficiency. We found that spectral overlap and individual energy level matching between the host and guest were both crucial features affecting the performance of the electroluminescence devices. Atomic force microscopy measurements indicated that the dipolar nature of PF‐CBZ‐OXD , in contrast to the general nonpolarity of polydialkylfluorenes, provided a stabilizing environment that allowed homogeneous dispersion of the polar iridium triplet dopant. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A characterization of projective-planar signed graphs

A signed graph has a plus or minus sign on each edge. A simple cycle is positive or negative depending on whether it contains an even or odd number of negative edges, respectively. We consider embeddings of a signed graph in the projective plane for which a simple cycle is essential if and only if it is negative. We characterize those signed graphs that have such a projective-planar embedding. Our characterization is in terms of a related signed graph formed by considering the theta subgraphs in the given graph.     

Estimation of kinetics parameters for the adsorption of human serum albumin onto hydroxyapatite-modified silver electrodes by piezoelectric quartz crystal impedance analysis.

The adsorption of human serum albumin onto hydroxyapatite-modified silver electrodes has been in situ investigated by utilizing the piezoelectric quartz crystal impedance technique. The changes of equivalent circuit parameters were used to interpret the adsorption process. A kinetic model of two consecutive steps was derived to describe the process and compared with a first-order kinetic model by using residual analysis. The experimental data of frequency shift fitted to the model and kinetics parameters, k1, k2, psi1, psi2 and qr, were obtained. All fitted results were in reasonable agreement with the corresponding experimental results. Two adsorption constants (7.19 kJ mol(-1) and 22.89 kJ mol(-1)) were calculated according to the Arrhenius formula.     

Synthesis of New 13-O-Acylavermectin Bl Aglycones

Six new 13-O-acylavermectin Bl aglycones(3-8) were synthesized from avermectin B1 aglycone and their bioactivities were evaluated against Spodoptera exigua, Spodoptera eridania, Tetranychus urticae and Aphis fabae.     

Mean curvature flows and isotopy of maps between spheres

Let f be a smooth map between unit spheres of possibly different dimensions. We prove the global existence and convergence of the mean curvature flow of the graph of f under various conditions. A corollary is that any area‐decreasing map between unit spheres (of possibly different dimensions) is isotopic to a constant map. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Lang maps and Harris’s conjecture

We show that any variety in characteristic 0 possesses a universal dominant rational map, which we callthe Lang map, to a variety of general type. We discuss a conjecture of J. Harris regarding the relation between rational points and Lang maps. Partially supported by NSF grant DMS-9503276.
