Transition from chaotic to ordered state has been observed during the initial stage of a discharge in a cylindrical DC glow discharge plasma. Initially it shows a chaotic behavior but increasing the discharge voltage changes the characteristics of the discharge glow and shows a period subtraction of order 7 period → 5 period → 3 period → 1 period, i.e. the system goes to single mode through odd cycle subtraction. On further increasing the discharge voltage, the system goes through period doubling, like 1 period → 2 period → 4 period. On further increasing the voltage, the system goes to stable state through two period subtraction, like 4 period → 2 period → stable.  相似文献

In this study, a rapid pre-concentration procedure, which employs powdered activated carbon as a clean-up and pre-concentration material, is described for the gas chromatographic analysis of N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) and N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in aqueous solutions. It was found that powdered activated carbon is suitable for the adsorption of volatile N-nitrosamine compounds from aqueous solutions. Adsorption efficiency with spiked beer samples (alcohol content 5% v/v) was found to be 80.5% (NDMA) and 89.4% (NDEA) and recovery of extraction from activated carbon was calculated as 82.1% (NDMA) and 89.7% (NDEA), respectively. The effect of 100µgmL–1 of tannic acid on the adsorption was also studied, and no significant effect on the adsorption and extraction of volatile N-nitrosamine compounds was found.  相似文献

The compound [PPh(4)](2)[NEt(4)][CuTe(7)] has been synthesized from the reaction of CuCl with a polytelluride solution in dimethylformamide at room temperature. The compound crystallizes with two formula units in the triclinic space group P(-)1 in a cell with dimensions a = 8.9507(18) A, b = 14.714(3) A, and c = 23.277(5) A and alpha= 86.32(3) degrees, beta= 80.17(3) degrees, and gamma= 75.63(3) degrees (T = -120 degrees C). Ab initio calculations indicate that the nonclassical [CuTe(7)](3)(-) anion is the result of joining Te(3)(2-) and [CuTe(4)](1-) fragments through donor-acceptor interactions.  相似文献

The overall objective of this investigation is to achieve high‐performance membranes with respect to flux and rejection characteristics, with an interplay of blending polymers having desired qualities. Thus, cellulose diacetate and polyethersulfone as candidate materials, in the presence of polyethylene glycol 600 as a pore forming agent, were blended in 100/0, 95/5, 90/10, 85/15, 80,20 and 75/25% compositions using N,N′‐dimethylformamide as solvent and membranes were prepared by the phase inversion technique. Polymer blend composition, additive concentration, and casting and gelation conditions were standardized for the preparation of asymmetric membranes with various pore statistics and morphology. These blend membranes were characterized for compaction in ultrafiltration experiments at 414 kPa pressure in order to attain steady state flux and is reached within 4–5 hr. The pure water flux was measured at 345 kPa pressure and is determined largely by the composition of polyethersulfone and additive concentration. The flux was found to reach the highest values of 66.5 and 275 1/(cm2 hr) at 0 and 10 wt% additive concentrations respectively, at 25% SPS content of the blend. Membrane hydraulic resistance derived by measuring water flux at various transmembrane pressure and by using an algorithm was found to be inversely proportional to pure water flux. Water content is estimated by simple drying and weighing procedures and found proportional to pure water flux for all the membranes. The molecular weight cut‐offs (MWCOs) of different membranes were determined with proteins of different molecular weights and found to vary from 20–69 kDa (globular proteins) depending on the PEG and SPS content in the casting dope. Skin surface porosity of the membranes were analyzed by scanning the frozen membrane samples using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) at different magnifications. Polymeric membranes based on cellulose acetate (CA)--sulfonated polysulfone blends at three different polymer compositions were prepared by solution blending and phase inversion technique, characterized and subjected to annealing at 70, 80 and 90 °C. The permeate water flux, separation of bovine serum albumin and its flux by the blend membranes before and after thermal treatment, have been compared and discussed. Similarly, CA and epoxy resin (diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A) were blended in various compositions, in the presence and in the absence of polyethyleneglycol 600 as non-solvent additive, using N,N-dimethylformamide as solvent, and used for preparing ultraflltration membranes by phase inversion technique. The polymer blend composition, additive concentration, casting and gelation conditions were optimized. Blend membranes were characterized in terms of compaction, pure water flux, water content and membrane resistance. The effects of polymer blend composition and additive concentration on the above parameters were determined and the results are discussed.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxidation of cyclanols, viz., cyclohexanol, cyclopentanol, cycloheptanol and cyclooctanol by quinaldinium fluorochromate has been studied in aqueous acid medium at 313 K (±0.1 K). The cyclanols were converted to the corresponding cyclic ketones. The order of reaction was found to be one with respect to oxidant and fractional with respect to the substrate and hydrogen ion concentrations. Increase in the percentage of acetic acid increases the rate of reaction. The reaction mixture shows the absence of any free radicals in the reaction, which has ruled out the possibility of a one-electron transfer during the addition of acrylonitrile. The reaction has been studied at four different temperatures and the activation parameters were calculated. From the observed kinetic results a suitable mechanism was proposed. The relative reactivity order was found to be cyclohexanol < cyclopentanol < cycloheptanol < cyclooctanol. This was explained on the basis of I-strain theory.  相似文献

Gold-catalyzed oxidations of propargyl alcohols with nitrones by using a P(tBu)2(o-biphenyl)Au+ catalyst, afforded bicyclic annulation products from the Mannich reactions of gold enolates. The same reactions of propargyl amines with nitrones by using the same gold catalyst gave distinct oxoarylation products. Our DFT calculations indicate that oxidation of propargyl alcohols with nitrones by using electron-rich gold catalysts lead only to gold carbenes, which can generate gold enolates or oxoarylation intermediates with enolate species having a barrier smaller than that of oxoarylation species.  相似文献

Biofilms play an essential role in chronic and healthcare-associated infections and are more resistant to antimicrobials compared to their planktonic counterparts due to their (1) physiological state, (2) cell density, (3) quorum sensing abilities, (4) presence of extracellular matrix, (5) upregulation of drug efflux pumps, (6) point mutation and overexpression of resistance genes, and (7) presence of persister cells. The genes involved and their implications in antimicrobial resistance are well defined for bacterial biofilms but are understudied in fungal biofilms. Potential therapeutics for biofilm mitigation that have been reported include (1) antimicrobial photodynamic therapy, (2) antimicrobial lock therapy, (3) antimicrobial peptides, (4) electrical methods, and (5) antimicrobial coatings. These approaches exhibit promising characteristics for addressing the impending crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Recently, advances in the micro- and nanotechnology field have propelled the development of novel biomaterials and approaches to combat biofilms either independently, in combination or as antimicrobial delivery systems. In this review, we will summarize the general principles of clinically important microbial biofilm formation with a focus on fungal biofilms. We will delve into the details of some novel micro- and nanotechnology approaches that have been developed to combat biofilms and the possibility of utilizing them in a clinical setting.  相似文献
