Simulation of structure formation in disperse systems

The main rules governing the redistribution of microparticles in disperse systems were revealed by computer simulation. These rules predetermine the character and properties of the structure being formed, which opens up the possibility to control the properties of disperse materials, including sorbents and catalysts based on high-dispersity solid phases.     

Epoxy Composites Modified with Finely Dispersed Fillers

The thermal stability and mechanical strength of composites based on ED-20 epoxy oligomer cured with isomethyltetrahydrophthalic and methylendic anhydrides was studied as influenced by the nature and properties of finely dispersed inorganic fillers, such as carbon black, aluminum oxide, and silica nanoparticles.

Optically active camphordihydro-2,3-pyrazine and camphorquinoxaline were prepared from camphoroquinone enantiomers. It was shown that (1S,4R)-(+)-camphoroquinone was formed by oxidation of (1S,3R, 4R)-(−)-3-bromocamphor and (1R,4S)-(−)-camphoroquinone from (1R,3S, 4S)-(+)-3-bromocamphor, respectively. N-Pyrrolidine-2-ylmethyl)-2-hydroxy-3-aminopinanes as novel organocatalysts for asymmetric conjugate additions of ketones to α-nitroalkenes

Novel stereoisomeric natural pinane-derived bifunctional catalysts 3a–d bearing a pyrrolidine unit have been synthesized and examined in the asymmetric conjugate additions of carbonyl compounds to α-nitroalkenes. Six-membered cyclic ketones react with β-nitrostyrene derivatives in the presence of (1R,2R,3R,5R)-2-hydroxy-3-((S)-pyrrolidin-2-ylmethylamino) pinane 3b (10 mol %) with high conversion to afford with diastereoselectivity (dr (syn/anti) up to 97/3), the corresponding Michael adducts with enantiomeric purities of up to 88% ee.
