Polyalkoxybenzenes from plant sources 2. Synthesis of isoxazoline analogs of combretastatin from natural allyl(methylenedioxy)methoxybenzenes

A series of analogs of the natural mitostatic agent combretastatin were synthesized by the reaction of nitrile oxides with natural allylbenzenes, such as myristicin, apiol, and dillapiol. The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions in allylic systems proceed regiospecifically. The reactions with trans isomers of propenylbenzenes, viz., isomyristicin, isoapiol, and isodillapiol, as dipolarophiles produce regioisomers. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. Synthesis and reactivity of thieno[2,3-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>]pyridine-2,3-diamines

It has been established that the interaction of N¹-(2-hydroxyphenylmethylthieno[2,3-b]pyrid-3-yl)arylamides with hydrazine hydrate leads to thieno[2,3-b]pyridine-2,3-diamines. Synthesis and structures of 4,6-disubstituted 2-(5-methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-1,3,5-triazines

New 1,2,4-oxadiazolyl-1,3,5-triazines were synthesized from amidoximes derived from sym-triazine mononitriles. Synthesis of substituted benzoxazinylthieno[2,3-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>]pyridines by the reaction of (3-cyanopyridin-2-ylthio)acetic acids or their amides with <Emphasis Type="Italic">o</Emphasis>-aminophenyl(diphenyl)carbinol

A general method for the synthesis of 3-amino-2-(4,4-diphenyl-4H-3,1-benzoxazin-2-yl)thieno[2,3-b]pyridines was proposed. The method involves reactions of (3-cyanopyridin-2-ylthio)acetic acids or their amides with o-aminophenyl(diphenyl)carbinol in nitromethane in the presence of perchloric acid followed by neutralization of the resulting salts.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. High repetition rate LiF<Stack><Subscript>2</Subscript><Superscript>−</Superscript></Stack>: Color center laser

The efficient oscillation of LiF:F₂⁻ color center laser pumped by a compact LD-pumped Nd:YVO₄ acousto optically Q-switched laser with 30 kHz pulse repetition rate was demonstrated. The broadband oscillation with 75 μJ pulse energy and 37 kW peak power with the slope efficiency 20% was obtained. The average output power as high as 230 mW was reached. The narrow line tunable from 1.10 to 1.29 μm laser radiation with 10% conversion efficiency in the maximum of the tuning curve was achieved under pumping with 1.6 W average pump power.
