The rate coefficient for the reaction of CCl3 radicals with ozone has been measured at 303 ± 2 K. The CCl3 radicals were generated by the pulsed laser photolysis of carbon tetrachloride at 193 nm. The time profile of CCl3 concentration was monitored with a photoionization mass spectrometer. Addition of the O3–O2 mixture to this system caused a decay of the CCl3 concentration because of the reactions of CCl3 + O3 → products (5) and CCl3 + O2 → products (4). The decay of signals from the CCl3 radical was measured in the presence and absence of ozone. In the absence of ozone, the O3–O2 mixture was passed through a heated quartz tube to convert the ozone to molecular oxygen. Since the rate coefficient for the reaction of CCl3 + O2 could be determined separately, the absolute rate coefficient for reaction ( 5 ) was obtained from the competition among these reactions. The rate coefficient determined for reaction ( 5 ) was (8.6 ± 0.5) × 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1 and was also found to be independent of the total pressure (253–880 Pa of N2). The effect of spin relaxation on tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) in a ferromagnet/superconductor/ferromagnet (FM/SC/FM) double tunnel junction is theoretically studied. The spin accumulation in SC is determined by balancing of the spin-injection rate and the spin-relaxation rate. In the superconducting state, the spin-relaxation time τs becomes longer with decreasing temperature, resulting in a rapid increase of TMR. The TMR of FM/SC/FM junctions provides a useful probe to extract information about spin-relaxation in superconductors.  相似文献

The adsorption behavior of various amino acids on a stainless steel surface was investigated at 30 degrees C and over a pH range of 3-10. Acidic and basic amino acids except histidine adsorbed remarkably at pH 3-4 and 7-10, respectively, and showed Langmuir-type adsorption isotherms. The effects of pH and ionic strength on the adsorption isotherms were investigated to analyze the interactions between amino acids and adsorption sites on the stainless steel. Hydrophobic amino acids and glycine showed only small adsorbed amounts at all pHs tested. For the acidic and basic amino acids, reversibility of the absorption and the influence of the ionic strength on the adsorption behavior were examined. The adsorption isotherms of the derivatives of aspartic acid were also measured in order to examine the contribution of the carboxylic groups of acidic amino acids to the adsorption. Furthermore, a Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopic analysis and semiempirical molecular orbital calculation were carried out to analyze the ionization states and the configuration of the amino acids adsorbed on a stainless steel surface. These investigations suggest that the acidic and basic amino acids adsorb through two electrostatic interactions of two ionized groups in the amino acid with a stainless steel surface. We developed a rapid and simple HPLC method combined with solid-phase extraction (SPE) for quantitative analysis of (+)-pseudoephedrine (PEP) and (-)-ephedrine (EP) in Japanese herbal (Kampo) medicines such as Kakkon-to, Sho-seiryu-to, Goshaku-san and Bofu-tsusho-san. SPE was performed on TOYOPAK IC-SP M containing propylsulfonic groups. Determination of PEP and EP was carried out using ion-pair reversed-phase HPLC with sodium dodecyl sulfate. N-Benzyldiethylamine was used as an internal standard. The analytical procedure was validated with regard to specificity, linearity, accuracy, and precision. These data suggest that the analytical method developed in this study is useful for quantitative analysis of PEP and EP in various formulations of Kampo medicine containing Ephedra herb.  相似文献

An enzyme (befunolol reductase) which catalyzes the reduction of befunolol to dihydrobefunolol was purified from the cytosolic fraction of rabbit liver to homogeneity by various chromatographic techniques. Befunolol reductase had molecular weights of 29000 on sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and 34000 on gel filtration. The enzyme required reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) as a cofactor and showed an optimal pH of 6.5. The apparent Km and Vmax values of the enzyme for the reduction of befunolol were 1.7 mM and 4.4 units/mg, respectively. Flavonoids, sulfhydryl reagents, heavy metals and coumarins strongly inhibited the enzyme. The enzyme catalyzed the reduction of a variety of aromatic ketones. In addition to befunolol, some ketone-containing drugs such as daunorubicin and levobunolol were efficiently reduced by the enzyme. On the basis of substrate specificities for steroids, befunolol reductase purified from the cytosolic fraction of rabbit liver appeared to be a 3 alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase.  相似文献

Cheletropic additions forming cyclopropane rings were studied theoretically. Ten addition paths were traced by means of density-functional-theory calculations. Two 1,4-dienes, 1,4-pentadiene, and tricyclo[5.3.1.04,9]undeca-2,5-diene were adopted as substrates. CO, SO2, C2H5PCl2, CCl2 and SiCl2 were employed as cheletropic reagents (Xs). An orbital correlation diagram of the Woodward–Hoffmann (W–H) rule and frontier molecular orbital (FMO) interactions between them were investigated in detail. The FMO interactions, HOMO (1,4-diene)lumo (X) and homo (X)LUMO (diene), work reasonably for the progress of the reactions. Those cause the formation of two C–X bonds and a cyclopropane ring, and alternation of double bonds to single bonds. All the additions are concerted. The easiness of the ring formation depends upon the energy gap between HOMO and lumo and that between homo and LUMO, and the spatial directions of HOMO and LUMO extensions. Symmetry conservation of the W–H rule does not hold necessarily for those addition paths. We found a linear correlation between the theoretically predicted shifts and experimentally observed absorption spectra for various mutants of photoactive yellow protein, a photosensory receptor. Excitation energies of mutants were evaluated by the combination of the high level ab initio calculation for the chromophore inside and the low level ab initio calculation for the surrounding protein environment. Importantly, the electronic states of these two regions were treated both as variables and they are solved consistently to each other. The protein–chromophore interaction has been accurately reproduced by this method.  相似文献

Radical-anions of iodine, bromine, and monoiodochloride are produced in γ-irradiated amorphous solids at 77 K, and their electronic and ESR spectra measured. On limited warming of the irradiated solution dimerization by the reaction I2? + I2 → I4? occurs to produce the same species as reported by Fornier de Violet et al. The electronic structure of the dimeric anion is discussed in comparison with the monomeric anion.  相似文献

The synthesis and properties of novel anthracene-bridged porphyrin dimers having an oxomolybdenum(V) porphyrin unit, H(2)(DPA)[Mo(V)O(OMe)] (1) and (DPA)[Mo(V)O(OMe)][Zn(II)(MeOH)] (2), and the relevant monomer porphyrin complexes Mo(V)O(MPP)OMe (3) and Zn(II)(MPP) (4) are presented. An oxomolybdenum(V) unit was introduced into one of the two porphyrins in DPA to give 1, which has a free-base porphyrin unit. By introducing a zinc(II) ion to the free-base part, a mixed-metal complex of 2 was prepared and isolated. The structure of 2 was analyzed by X-ray crystallography (2.(7)/(6)CH(2)Cl(2), triclinic, P(-)1 (no. 2), a = 15.2854(12) A, b = 19.9640(15) A, c = 13.6915(12) A, alpha = 90.968(3), beta = 113.108(4), gamma = 96.501(4), Z = 2, R1 = 9.9, wR2 = 19.2). The structure of 2 demonstrated that a methanol is stably coordinated to the Zn(II) ion with the aid of a hydrogen bond to the methoxo ligand on the Mo(V) ion in the binding pocket of DPA. The electrochemical measurements of 2 suggested that the methanol was kept in the pocket of DPA in solution even at the reduced state of the molybdenum ion.  相似文献
