We consider diffraction by a semi-infinite crack located alonga fusion interface between two differing elastic media. Twotypes of crack, namely open and partially closed cracks, areinvestigated. An open crack is modelled by a stress-free contactboundary condition and a partially closed crack is modelledby a spring contact boundary condition. For the latter, thejump in the stress across the crack is assumed to be proportionalto the jump in the displacement across the crack. This situationarises in, for example, a K-weld where the fine grain of theparent material (for example, ferritic or forged austeniticsteel) is in stark contrast with the coarse-grained weld metal(for example, austenitic weld metal). In the metal weld thedirection of the grain axis varies through the metal. However,diffraction is a local phenomenon and so the austenitic steelis assumed to have a zonal axis so that it may be modelled bya transversely isotropic composite. The ferritic or forged austeniticsteel will be modelled as an isotropic material.  相似文献

We report a 0 degrees 176Yb(p,n)176Lu measurement at IUCF where we used 120 and 160 MeV protons and the energy dependence method to determine Gamow-Teller (GT) matrix elements relative to the model independent Fermi matrix element. The data show that there is an isolated concentration of GT strength in the low-lying 1(+) states making the proposed Low Energy Neutrino Spectroscopy detector (based on neutrino captures on 176Yb) sensitive to pp and 7Be neutrinos and a promising detector to resolve the solar neutrino problem.  相似文献

Herein we report a novel strategy for the in situ synthesis of the silver colloids for LoC-SERS applications. Silver nanoparticles are obtained in a segmented flow based glass microfluidic chip by the reduction of silver ions with hydrazine in ammonium hydroxide solution. Citrate ions are used as protecting agents. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by UV-VIS spectroscopy, SEM and TEM imaging. The SERS performance of the in situ synthesized nanoparticles is tested by using adenine as a test analyte right after the colloid synthesis. Reproducibility is tested by repeating the measurements three times at independent days applying the same measurement conditions. In comparison with nanoparticles synthesized in a conventional strategy i.e. in a large batch, chip synthesized nanoparticles show a better day-to-day and long-term reproducibility, lower detection limits and broader working ranges. The great advantage offered by the in situ synthesized colloids combined with the already proven potential of LoC-SERS for bioanalytics, raises the possibility of the employment of LoC-SERS as a fast and sensitive analytic tool in a plethora of applications.  相似文献

The calculated rate of events in some of the existing solar neutrino detectors is directly proportional to the rate of the 7Be(p, γ)8B reaction measured in the laboratory at low energies. However, the low-energy cross sections of this reaction are quite uncertain as various measurements differ from each other by 30–40%. The Coulomb dissociation process which reverses the radiative capture by the dissociation of 8B in the Coulomb field of a target, provides an alternate way of accessing this reaction. While this method has several advantages (like large breakup cross sections and flexibility in the kinematics), the difficulties arise from the possible interference by the nuclear interactions, uncertainties in the contributions of the various multipoles and the higher order effects, which should be considered carefully. We review the progress made so far in the experimental measurements and theoretical analysis of the breakup of 8B and discuss the current status of the low-energy cross sections (or the astrophysical S-factor) of the 7Be(p, γ)8B reaction extracted therefrom. A cross-flow atmospheric plasma jet with distilled water or analyte solution nebulization has been investigated. The plasma gas flows perpendicularly to the RF powered electrode (11.21 MHz) and a grounded electrode was added for plasma stabilization. The working parameters of the plasma generator can be controlled in order to maximize either the plasma power (75 W) or the voltage on the RF powered electrode (plasma power, 40 W). The plasma gas, pure argon (0.4 l min1) or a mixture of argon (0.3–0.4 l min1) and helium (0–0.2 l min1), was also used for liquid nebulization. Optical emission of the plasma, collected in the normal viewing mode, was used for plasma diagnostics and for evaluating its excitation capabilities. The influence of helium content in the mixed-gas plasma on the plasma characteristics and on the emission axial profiles of the plasma gas constituents and of the analytes originate from the wet aerosol was studied. The addition of helium to the argon plasma, generally determines decreases in the emission of the plasma gas constituents (with the exception of molecular nitrogen), in the rotational temperature and in the electron number density and increases in the excitation temperatures and in the emission of easily excitable analytes. Based on the determined electron number densities, it was concluded that in the plasma zone which presents interest from analytical point of view the plasma is not very far from the partial thermodynamic equilibrium. In function of the helium content in the plasma gas and of the axial distance from the powered electrode the excitation temperatures are in the range of 2420–3340 K for argon, 2500–5450 K for oxygen and 900–2610 K for ionic calcium and the electron number densities are in the range of 1.2 1012–1.25 1013 cm3. Some elements with excitation energy lower than 6 eV were excited in the plasma. The plasma excitation capability depends on the working conditions of the plasma generator (maximum power or maximum voltage on the RF powered electrode) and on the helium content in the mixed-gas plasma. The estimated detection limits for the studied elements (Na, Li, K, Ca, Cu, Ag, Cd, Hg and Zn) are in the range of 7 ng ml1 to 28 μg ml1.  相似文献

In this study, we have investigated calcium and silicate‐free samples over a wide compositional range in the xB2O3·30 Na2O·(70−x)P2O5 system, with 0 ≤ x ≤ 70 mol%, in order to determine the influence of the chemical composition on their structure and bioactive response in simulated body fluid. Information related to the chemical structures present in the network was obtained by means of Raman and infrared spectroscopy. For samples containing small amounts of P2O5, boron structures are preponderant. Upon increasing the phosphorus content, the samples' network is based on phosphate chains linked by boron groups through ‘P–O–B’ bridges. For high concentration of P2O5, the Q3 units form three‐dimensional network, whereas Q2 units assist the chain formation. Regarding the in vitro assessment of bioactivity, the clear print of PO4 asymmetric bending vibrations of apatite‐like layer in the 540–680 cm−1 spectral domain, the scanning electron micrographs and energy dispersive x‐ray analysis spectra demonstrate that the studied borophosphate samples exhibit good bioactive response only for certain chemical compositions. More exactly, the highest bioactivity is obtained for 30% and 20% B2O3 (mol%) after 3 and 11 days of immersion, respectively. Therefore, the samples with 20–30 mol% boron content are valuable candidates that can be used as materials for tissue engineering applications. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

An ultrahigh contrast laser pulse of over 1011 for 6 ps before the main pulse was achieved by employing a double plasma mirror installed at the end of a 100 TW Ti:sapphire laser system. Spatial beam qualities such as focusability and stability were found to be extremely sensitive in the range of 14–360 J/cm2 on the double plasma mirror, while ultrahigh contrast was maintained. At the fluence of 90 J/cm2 the focusability of the ultrahigh contrast laser was not degraded, and the stability was very close to that obtained without the double plasma mirror when the 2-dimensional normalized standard deviation and the correlation function for several laser beam profiles were analyzed. These results are requisites for carrying out relativistic laser-plasma interactions with ultrahigh contrast laser pulses, enabling the use of ultrathin solid targets.  相似文献
