Oscillating processes with independent increments and nondegenerate Wiener component

For an oscillating process _z(t) (_z(0)=2,t0), which is defined with the help of two homogeneous processes ₁(t) and ₂(t) with independent increments and nondegemerate Wiener components, under certain restrictions we establish a relation of the form and find the characteristic function of the ergodic distribution of the process considered.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 42, No. 10, pp. 1415–1421, October, 1990.     

Cyclopentanone in the Synthesis of Fused 4,7-Phenanthroline Derivatives

Catalytic condensation of cyclopentanone with arylmethylene(6-quinolyl)amines gave previously unknown 8-aryl-10,11-dihydro-9H-cyclopenta[a]-4,7-phenanthrolines.     

Synthesis of 1,3-diaryl-4,7-phenanthrolines

A number of new 1,3-diaryl-4,7-phenanthrolines were synthesized by heterocyclization of arylidene-6-quinolylamines with acetophenones in the presence of an acidic catalyst. Intermediate amino ketones and side products, viz., N-(R¹-benzyl)-6-quinolylamines and ,-unsaturated ketones, were isolated. Reactions of Vanillin and Vanillal Esters with 6-Quinolylamine and Phenidone

Previously unknown 2-methoxy(or ethoxy)-4-(11-oxo-9-phenyl-7,8,9,10,11,12-hexahydrobenzo[b][4,7]phenanthrolin-12-yl)phenyl esters of carboxylic acids were prepared by ternary condensation of vanillin or vanillal alkanoates with 6-quinolylamine and Phenidone. According to the ¹H NMR spectra, the target products are formed as mixtures of diastereomers.     

Reaction of arylidene-2-naphthylamines with the ethyl ester of (2-quinolyl)-β-oxopropionic acid

The reaction of arylidene-2-naphthylamines with the ethyl ester of (2-quinolyl)--oxopropionic acid results in the synthesis of ethyl esters of 1-(2-quinolyl)-3-arylbenzo[f]quinoline-2-carboxylic acids. All the theoretically possible intermediate reaction products were isolated: the amino esters of 2-quinoline--oxopropionic acid, the hydroxy esters of tetrahydro- and esters of dihydrobenzo[f]quinoline-2-carboxylic acid, as well as the by-products — the ethyl ester of 2-quinolyl--(R-benzylidene)--oxopropionic acid. Condensation of 2-naphthylamine with aromatic aldehydes and substituted cyclohexane-1,3-diones

New 12-aryl(or hetaryl)-9-methyl(or 4-butoxyphenyl)-8,9,10,12-tetrahydro-7H-benzo[a]acridin-11-ones possessing two asymmetric carbon atoms (C⁹ and C¹²) were synthesized by condensation of 5-methyl-or 5-(4-butoxyphenyl)cyclohexane-1,3-dione with 2-naphthylamine and aromatic or heteroaromatic aldehydes. According to the ¹H NMR data, the products were isolated as mixtures of diastereoisomers.     

Condensation of fluorosubstituted benzaldehydes with amines and cyclic 1,3-diketones

Condensation of fluorosubstituted benzaldehydes with 2-naphthyl or 6-quinolylamine and cyclic β-diketones (,3-cyclohexanedione, dimedone, and 1,3-indandione) provided new fluoroderivatives of benzo[a]-acridine, 4,7-phenanthroline, and benzo[f]indeno[1,2-b]quinoline. Forming in the course of the reaction fluorophenylmethylene-2-naphthyl-(or 6-quinolyl)amines, arylbis(cyclohexane-1,3-dion-2-yl)methanes, and 2-(fluorophenylmethylene)-1,3-indandiones were isolated.     

Experimental investigation of an active open optical resonator in a turbulent atmosphere

The spectral densities of the time fluctuations of the amplitude of steady-state generation at two wavelengths ₁=0.63 and ₂=1.15 under conditions of turbulent fluctuations of the refractive index in the waveguide channel of an open optical resonator are studied. The frequency dependences of the spectral densities are analyzed at various states of atmospheric turbulence, including the state produced in an aerodynamic chamber. For wavelength ₂ the fluctuations of the water-vapor content form a random absorption field. The distinctive features of the frequency dependence of the spectral density are discussed and related to the time cross-correlation of random fields of the passive impurity of the water-vapor concentration, the temperature, and the turbulent velocity of the flow. The asymptotic behavior of the frequency dependences of the spectral density is analyzed from the standpoint of the self-similarity of the stochastic characteristics of the system consisting of the waveguide channel and the medium.Odessa Hydrometeorological Institute. Measuring the cross sections of heavy-metal spallation induced by deuterons with energies of 2, 2.94, and 3.5 GeV per nucleon

The cross sections for the spallation of the heavy-metal nuclei ¹⁸¹Ta, ¹⁹⁷Au, ²⁰⁷Pb, ²⁰⁹Bi, ²³²Th, and ²³⁸U induced by relativistic deuterons with energies of 2, 2.94, and 3.5 GeV per nucleon are measured using the deuteron beam from the Nuclotron accelerator of the JINR Laboratory of High Energy Physics in Dubna, Russia. The cross-section measurements employ a combined experimental technique involving the solidstate nuclear-track detectors and the activation gamma spectrometry. Adding our measurements to the database of experimental nuclear data will make it possible to test the computer codes used for selecting the parameters of the ADS-type facilities.
