Reaction of 1,5-diaryl-3-hydroxy-4-methylsulfonyl-3-pyrrolin-2-ones with urea,hydrazine, ethylenediamine,and <Emphasis Type="Italic">o</Emphasis>-phenylenediamine

With urea 1,5-diaryl-3-hydroxy-4-methylsulfonyl-3-pyrrolin-2-ones form the 3-amino derivatives of pyrrolones. In reactions with hydrazine hydrate and ethylenediamine the corresponding salts are formed. With ethylenediamine at 180–185°C the double salt of 3-hydroxy-4-methylsulfonyl-1,5-diphenyl-3-pyrrolin-2-one forms N,N′-di(4-methylsulfonyl-1,5-diphenyl-3-pyrrolin-2-on-3-yl)-ethylenediamine. Intramolecular cyclization of 5-aryl-3-arylamino-4-benzoyl-1h-3-pyrrolin-2-ones to pyrrolo[3,4-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>]quinolines

Defining relations of a free modular lattice of rank 3

For a 3-generated free modular lattice we obtain a set of 11 defining relations and prove that this set is minimal.     

Synthesis of 4-aryl-2-hydroxy-4-oxo-2-butenoic (Aroylpyruvic) acids N-(4-Acetylaminosulfonylphenyl)amides

Methyl aroylpyruvates react with sodium 4-aminobenzenesulfonylacetamide in acetic acid to afford 4-aryl-2-hydroxy-4-oxo-2-butenoic acids N-(4-acetylaminosulfonylphenyl)amides. The latter were studied in reactions with hydrazine hydrate.     

Synthesis of N,7-diaryl-5-methyl-4,7-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]-pyrimidine-6-carboxamides

Reaction of N-arylamides of acetoacetic acid with aromatic aldehyde and 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole derivatives has resulted in N,7-diaryl-5-methyl-4,7-dihydro-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxamides.     

Synthesis of 4-substituted 1,5-diaryl-3-diphenylmethoxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones and their [1,5]-sigmatropic rearrangement

Reactions of 1,4,5-trisubstituted 3-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones with diphenyldiazomethane yield the O-alkylation products. Thermolysis of 1,5-diaryl-4-heteroyl-3-hydroxy-3-pyrrolin-2-ones is accompanied with suprafacial [1,5]-sigmatropic rearrangement.     

Three-component synthesis of 6-aryl-4-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-(N-aryl)carboxamides

A three-component synthesis using acetoacetanilides and a mixture of an aromatic aldehyde and urea yields 6-aryl-4-methyl-2-oxo-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-(N-aryl)carboxamides.
