Aminomethylation of 1-R-Tetrazoles

The reaction of tetrazole and a series of its 1-substituted derivatives with formaldehyde and alkylamines under mild conditions results in aminomethylation of the heterocyclic ring at the carbon atom with the formation of the corresponding Mannich bases. It was found that strong acids (HCl and CF₃COOH) have an activating action during the process. Copolymers of the C9 hydrocarbon fraction of liquid pyrolysis products with maleic anhydride and their esterification products as additives to paper pulp

The influence exerted by copolymers of the C₉ fraction of liquid pyrolysis products of petroleum raw materials with maleic anhydride and by their esterification products, added to paper pulp, on the main paper properties was examined.     

Quantum-Chemical Study of the Relative Stability of N-Substituted Tetrazole Isomers

The enthalpies of formation and total energies of a series of 1- and 2-substituted tetrazoles in the gas phase and in solution were calculated by MNDO and AM1 semiempirical methods and by a set of nonempirical procedures. The effect of solvent on the relative stability of N-substituted tetrazoles was estimated in terms of the PCM, SM5, and SCRF models. The possibility for isomerization of N-substituted tetrazoles, depending on the substituent in position 1 or 2, was studied at the MP2/6-31G*//HF/6-31G* level. According to the results of nonempirical calculations, 2-substituted tetrazoles are more stable in the gas phase, in keeping with the experimental data for the corresponding isomers. The solvent nature is an important factor affecting isomerization of N-substituted tetrazoles: Rise in the solvent polarity leads to displacement of the equilibrium toward 1-substituted isomers.     

Estimation of the σR-constants of the tetrazolyl groups on the basis of13C NMR spectra of vinyltetrazoles

Synthesis of Petroleum Polymeric Resin by Cationic Polymerization of the C9 Fraction

Cationic oligomerization of the C₉ fraction of liquid pyrolysis products of petroleum raw materials, catalyzed by aluminum trichloride diphenyl ether complex, was studied, and a procedure was developed for preparation of a petroleum polymeric resin and petroleum polymerizate to be used as film-forming agents in paint-and-varnish materials.     

Dichloro[N,N‐dimethyl‐1‐(1‐methyl‐1H‐tetrazol‐5‐yl‐κN4)methanamine‐κN]copper(II)

The title compound, [CuCl₂(C₅H₁₁N₅)], is the first structurally characterized molecular chelate complex involving an α‐­amino­alkyl­tetrazole. There are two complex mol­ecules in the asymmetric unit. The ligand mol­ecules are bidentate. Both Cu atoms reveal rather distorted square‐planar coordinations. The complex mol­ecules are linked together by van der Waals interactions only.
