Synthesis and biological activity of α-alkylacrolein dimers and their derivatives

Dimers of methacrolein and α-ethylacrolein have been obtained and undergo a Cannizzaro reaction to the corresponding pyran alcohols and sodium salts of pyran acids. Optimization of synthesis conditions of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene

Catalytic dehydration of anhydrous 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butanediol and 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butanediol hexahydrate under atmospheric pressure was studied. Effect of temperature and reagent flow rate on the yield of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene was examined. The optimal conditions of these processes were found.     

Effect of the Reaction Products on the Rate of Oxidation of Crotonaldehyde

Study of the oxidation of crotonaldehyde revealed an appreciable inhibitory effect of the products on the process. Analysis of the kinetic data obtained over a wide range of reaction conditions (c ₀ 1.5-3.3 M, pO₂ 1-16 atm, T 293-309 K) showed that the overall oxidation process (with account taken of the inhibitory effect of the products) is described by the equation: W _CA = k*_ap c _CA (pO₂)^0.6 (1 + 0.17c _CA)^{- 1}, where k*_ap is the apparent rate constant, and c _CA is the decrease of the aldehyde concentration by a moment .     

Role of Epoxides in the Oxidation of Allyl Alcohol,Allyl Formate,and Allyl Acetate in Acetic Acid

The formation of epoxy derivatives as intermediate products in the oxidation of allyl alcohol, allylformate, allyl acetate in acetic acid was proved. Intermediate epoxy compounds undergo further trans-formations: They react with acetic acid to give glycerol esters or are converted into polyethers of glyceroland its esters. The rate constants for transformations of 2,3-epoxypropanol, 2,3-epoxypropyl formate, and 2,3-epoxypropyl acetate along these pathways were measured. Higher selectivity of glycerol ester formation from allyl formate was substantiated.     

Kinetic regularities of the oxidation of crotonaldehyde with molecular oxygen in ethyl acetate

It has been established that the rate of oxidation increases linearly with increasing concentration of crotonaldehyde to 5 mol/L. An increase of the oxygen partial pressure to 0.1 MPa accelerated the oxidation process and the kinetic order with respect to oxygen is close to 0.6. The temperature dependence of the oxidation of crotonaldehyde and the accumulation of specific products have been established. Synthesis of 1,3,4-trimethylcyclohex-3-en-1-carboxylic acid allyl ester

The process of diene cyclization of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene with allyl methacrylicate was investigated. Effects of temperature, reaction duration, and ratio of reagents on the yield of 1,3,4-trimethylcyclohex-3-en-1-carboxylic acid allyl ester was studied. Optimal conditions of passing the process were found.     

Role of Peroxy Compounds in Oxidation of Crotonaldehyde with Molecular Oxygen

Oxidation of crotonaldehyde with molecular oxygen and the role of percrotonic acid accumulating in the process were studied.     

Methylation of phenol by methyl formate

Oxidation Kinetics of Crotonaldehyde (2-Butenal) at Elevated Oxygen Pressure

Liquid-phase oxidation of crotonaldehyde in ethyl acetate at 285-309 K and oxygen pressure of 1-16 atm was studied. Kinetic equations satisfactorily describing the oxidation kinetics of crotonaldehyde were obtained.     

Liquid phase oxidation of allyl alcohol by air oxygen in acetic acid medium

Studies of the oxidation of allyl alcohol by air oxygen in acetic acid medium indicate that one of the intermediates is allyl epoxide transforming in 90% to polyglycerol esters of acetic and formic acids.
