Synthesis of spherical microcapsules by photopolymerization in aerosols

 The preparation of polymer microcapsules of well defined size in the range of 10–50 μm with different shell thickness to core diameter ratios is described. An aerosol of monodisperse droplets of a homogeneous ternary liquid system which contained a hydrophobic component and a hydrophilic component dissolved in a high-volatile mutual solvent, was produced by dispersing with a vibrating-orifice aerosol generator. After the evaporation of the solvent in a nitrogen atmosphere the particles demix and form a two-phase droplet of core-shell type. These droplets were illuminated with UV light and polymerized to highly monodisperse microcapsules with a solid polymer shell and a liquid core. The properties of the resulting particles (size, size distribution, shell thickness, shape and surface characteristics) were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy on single optically levitated particles, and confocal Raman micro spectroscopy. Superintegrable cases of four-dimensional dynamical systems

Degenerate tri-Hamiltonian structures of the Shivamoggi and generalized Raychaudhuri equations are exhibited. For certain specific values of the parameters, it is shown that hyperchaotic Lü and Qi systems are superintegrable and admit tri-Hamiltonian structures.     

Highly Enantioselective Hydrogenation of β‐Alkyl and β‐(ω‐Chloroalkyl) Substituted β‐Keto Esters

Highly enantioselective hydrogenation of β‐alkyl and β‐(ω‐chloroalkyl) substituted β‐keto esters was achieved with Ru catalysts based on chiral diphosphines in EtOH at 50°C under 50‐bar initial hydrogen pressure, affording the corresponding β‐hydroxy esters in >98% ee.     

Phonon density of states and compression behavior in iron sulfide under pressure

We report the partial phonon densities of states (DOS) of iron sulfide, a possible component of the rocky planet's core, measured by the 57Fe nuclear resonant inelastic x-ray scattering and calculate the total phonon DOS under pressure. From the phonon DOS, we drive thermodynamic parameters. A comparison of the observed and estimated compressibilities makes it clear that there is a large pure electronic contribution in the observed compressibility in the metallic state. Our results present the observation of thermodynamic parameters of iron sulfide with the low-spin state of an Fe2+ ion at the high density, which is similar to the condition of the Martian core.     

Influence of oxygen pressure of ZnO/glass substrate produced by pulsed filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition

The effects of oxygen pressure on the structural and optical properties of high quality transparent conductive ZnO thin films were studied in detail. ZnO thin films were prepared by pulsed filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition system under various oxygen pressures on glass substrate at room temperature. With increasing oxygen pressure, the structure and optical properties of films change. The structural and optical properties of the ZnO thin films were investigated using X-ray diffraction, transmittance spectrometry, refractive index, oscillator parameters, energy band gap and Urbach tail. The films show c-axis oriented (0 0 2) hexagonal wurtize crystal structure. It has been found that the grain size of ZnO thin films increases from 16.9 to 22.6 nm with the increase of oxygen pressure from 3.8×10⁻⁴ to 6.9×10⁻⁴ Torr and the crystallinity is enhanced. Average transmittance is about 90% in the visible region of the ZnO thin films. From optical transmittance spectra of ZnO films, the absorption edge shifts towards the taller wavelength with an increase in oxygen pressure. The energy band gap decreases from 3.31 to 3.20 eV with an increase in oxygen pressure. The packing density investigation shows in ZnO films high packing densities (above 0.78) can be obtained.     

On some new generalized difference sequence spaces defined by a sequence of moduli

In this paper, we define the new generalized difference sequence spaces [V, λ, F, p, q]₀(Δ _v ^m ), [V, λ, F, p, q]₁(Δ _v ^m ) and [V, λ, F, p, q]_∞(Δ _v ^m ). We also study some inclusion relations between these spaces.
