α-Hydroxy carboxylate ligands like gluconate or polyaminocarboxylate ligands such as ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA) are frequently used in decontamination procedures at nuclear power plants. The presence of these organic substances among nuclear wastes could enhance the solubility of actinides by forming soluble complexes. Thermodynamic data on the stability of gluconate and EDTA with actinides are essential to predict their increase in mobility, especially in high pH systems characteristic of cement environments of a nuclear waste repository. In this work, the solubility of thorium oxyhydroxide in the presence of gluconate and EDTA has been studied. The results highlight the key role of these organics in increasing the solubility of thorium at pHc = 12. The presence of calcium at concentrations below 10?2 mol·dm?3 (characteristic of cement porewaters corresponding to cement compositions at the second degradation stage) does not seem to affect significantly the thorium solubility under the studied conditions.  相似文献

We give an axiomatic characterization of maps from algebraic K-theory. The results apply to a large class of maps from algebraic K-theory to any suitable cohomology theory or to algebraic K-theory. In particular, we obtain comparison theorems for the Chern character and Chern classes and for the Adams operations and λ-operations on higher algebraic K-theory. We show that the Adams operations and λ-operations defined by Grayson agree with the ones defined by Gillet and Soulé.  相似文献

This short note proves that the least square nucleolus (Ruiz et al. (1996)) and the lexicographical solution (Sakawa and Nishizaki (1994)) select the same imputation in each game with nonempty imputation set. We discuss a relationship between Khovanov- and Heegaard Floer-type homology theories for braids. Explicitly, we define a filtration on the bordered Heegaard–Floer homology bimodule associated to the double-branched cover of a braid and show that its associated graded bimodule is equivalent to a similar bimodule defined by Khovanov and Seidel.  相似文献

Pyramidal values     
We propose and analyze a new type of values for cooperative TU-games, which we call pyramidal values. Assuming that the grand coalition is sequentially formed, and all orderings are equally likely, we define a pyramidal value to be any expected payoff in which the entrant player receives a salary, and the rest of his marginal contribution to the just formed coalition is distributed among the incumbent players. We relate the pyramidal-type sharing scheme we propose with other sharing schemes, and we also obtain some known values by means of this kind of pyramidal procedures. In particular, we show that the Shapley value can be obtained by means of an interesting pyramidal procedure that distributes nonzero dividends among the incumbents. As a result, we obtain an alternative formulation of the Shapley value based on a measure of complementarity between two players. Finally, we introduce the family of proportional pyramidal values, in which an incumbent receives a dividend in proportion to his initial investment, measured by means of his marginal contribution.  相似文献

Gluconate (C6H11O7) is a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid that can be assumed as a representative model compound for a wide variety of additives in cement formulations. It can play an important role in the cementitious environments characteristic of radioactive waste disposal sites, as actinides (such as U(VI)) may form stable complexes with gluconate. As a consequence, the presence of the organic ligand can lead to an enhancement of actinide mobility. The results presented in this work show that gluconate increases significantly the uranium solubility at pHc = 12; the study of U(VI) speciation in alkaline solutions is complex, mainly due to formation of sparingly soluble uranates of varying compositions (e.g. sodium and potassium uranates). UV–Vis measurements in the alkaline pH range have been used to determine the stability constant for the formation of a 1:1 U(VI):gluconate complex. The results obtained with spectroscopic techniques allow explaining the results from solubility experiments, from both over- and under-saturation conditions.  相似文献

We analyzed spontaneous activity of cortical neuronal networks in vitro using recurrence plots (RPs). Our data encompasses fluorescence traces of average network activity from two experimental explorations, namely the development of connections during the maturation of the network and the gradual weakening of connections through chemical action. The dynamical richness of the networks in these connectivity-evolving scenarios was examined through recurrence quantification analysis. Measures such as determinism and laminarity were used to portray the degree of uniformity and periodicity of the spontaneous activity patterns. The analysis shows that RPs are a powerful tool to visualize and interpret neuronal networks dynamics, and pinpoint its hallmarks.  相似文献

Here we report on the synthesis of ultrasmall gamma-Fe2O3 nanoparticles (5 nm) presenting a very narrow particle size distribution and an exceptionally high saturation magnetization. The synthesis has been carried out by decomposition of an iron organometallic precursor in an organic medium. The particles were subsequently stabilized in an aqueous solution at physiological pH, and the colloidal dispersions have been thoroughly characterized by complementary techniques. Particular attention has been given to the assessment of the mean particle size by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, dynamic light scattering, magnetic, and relaxometric measurements. The good agreement found between the different techniques points to a very narrow particle size distribution. Regarding the magnetic properties, the particles are superparamagnetic at room temperature and present an unusually high saturation magnetization value. In addition, we describe the potential of these particles as specific positive contrast agents for magnetic resonance molecular imaging.  相似文献

We give necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of sign vectors for the injectivity of families of polynomial maps with arbitrary real exponents defined on the positive orthant. Our work relates and extends existing injectivity conditions expressed in terms of Jacobian matrices and determinants. In the context of chemical reaction networks with power-law kinetics, our results can be used to preclude as well as to guarantee multiple positive steady states. In the context of real algebraic geometry, our work recognizes a prior result of Craciun, Garcia-Puente, and Sottile, together with work of two of the authors, as the first partial multivariate generalization of the classical Descartes’ rule, which bounds the number of positive real roots of a univariate real polynomial in terms of the number of sign variations of its coefficients.  相似文献
