PMR-Spektren einiger Alkoxy-9-chlor-6-nitroacridine

The spectra of some 9-chloro-6-nitroacridines with methoxy substituents in position 1,4; 2,4; 3,4; 2,3; and ethoxy substituents in positions 1, 2, 3, were recorded. The influence of electron releasing alkoxy groups and electron withdrawing nitro groups on chemical shifts of protons in the 9-chloroacridinic cycle was discussed and PMR parameters were determined, comparatively with those of acridine and 9-chloroacridine. Good agreement between calculated and experimental values is observed. The spectrum of 9-chloro-1,2,3-triethoxyacridine shows for the four protons of the ringC. (H-5, H-6, H-7, H-8) anAMNX coupling pattern whose parameters were determined.

Dirichlet principle using computers

In this article we shall give practical and numerical solutions of the Laplace equation on multidimensional spaces and show the numerical experiments by using computers. Our method is based on the Dirichlet principle by combinations with generalized inverses, Tikhonov's regularization and the theory of reproducing kernels.     

A new proof of the stable manifold theorem for hyperbolic fixed points on surfaces

We introduce a new technique for proving the classical stable manifold theorem for hyperbolic fixed points. This method is much more geometrical than the standard approaches which rely on abstract fixed point theorems. It is based on the convergence of a canonical sequence of “finite time local stable manifolds” which are related to the dynamics of a finite number of iterations.

Nuclear analyses of the Pietroasa gold hoard

By means of nuclear analyses the concentrations of Au, Ag, Cu, Ir, Os, Pt, Co and Hg were measured in the 12 artifacts of the gold hoard discovered in 1837 at Pietroasa, Buzäu county in Romania. The concentrations of the first four elements were used to compare different stylistic groups assumed by historians. Comparisons with gold nuggets from the old Dacian territory and gold Roman imperial coins were also made. A good agreement was found with the oldest hypothesis which considers that the hoard is represented by three styles appropriated mainly by the Goths.
