Bridged 2,3-naphthalocyaninatoruthenium oligomers {[MacRu(L)] n } were synthesized and characterized using solid-state methods. For comparison, soluble t-butyl substituted phthalocyaninatoruthenium oligomers were prepared and their chain length examined by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The powder conductivities of all bridged compounds ([MacRu(L)] n ) were measured and the dependence of the conductivities on the bridging ligands is discussed.  相似文献

Nonlinear grassland responses to past and future atmospheric CO(2)   总被引:17,自引:0,他引:17  
Carbon sequestration in soil organic matter may moderate increases in atmospheric CO(2) concentrations (C(a)) as C(a) increases to more than 500 micromol mol(-1) this century from interglacial levels of less than 200 micromol mol(-1) (refs 1 6). However, such carbon storage depends on feedbacks between plant responses to C(a) and nutrient availability. Here we present evidence that soil carbon storage and nitrogen cycling in a grassland ecosystem are much more responsive to increases in past C(a) than to those forecast for the coming century. Along a continuous gradient of 200 to 550 micromol mol(-1) (refs 9, 10), increased C(a) promoted higher photosynthetic rates and altered plant tissue chemistry. Soil carbon was lost at subambient C(a), but was unchanged at elevated C(a) where losses of old soil carbon offset increases in new carbon. Along the experimental gradient in C(a) there was a nonlinear, threefold decrease in nitrogen availability. The differences in sensitivity of carbon storage to historical and future C(a) and increased nutrient limitation suggest that the passive sequestration of carbon in soils may have been important historically, but the ability of soils to continue as sinks is limited.  相似文献

The ganglion cells of the cat retina form classes distinguishable in terms of perikaryal size, dendritic morphology and functional properties. Further, the axons differ in their diameters, patterns of chiasmatic crossing and in their central connections. Here we define, by 3H-thymidine autoradiography, the order of production of cells of each class and relate the order of the 'birthdates' to the known axonal pathways. The ganglion cell classes are produced in broad waves, which overlap as cells are produced first for central then for peripheral retina. Medium-sized cells are produced before the largest cells, and small ganglion cells are produced throughout the period of cell generation. This sequence of cell production relates to the orderly arrangement of axons in the optic tract, and can also be related to the rules of chiasmatic crossing observed for each ganglion cell class.  相似文献

The quantum-statistical properties of Argon clusters are calculated applying a Path-Integral Monte-Carlo (PIMC) method. Results for pair correlation functions and kinetic-and configurational energy expectations for various cluster sizes and temperatures are presented. Physical phenomena such as ground-state kinetic energy and quantum admixture of different atomic configurations are studied and experiences with the method are given. In particular, the relation between metastable cluster states and phase transitions is discussed.  相似文献

It is shown forSU(N) andU(1) gauge groups that periodic spatial boundary conditions, as commonly used in lattice simulations, are not possible in the charged sectors of a local gauge theory. For charge-conjugate (C-)periodic boundary conditions the effective gauge action of fermions is derived. For nonzero chemical potential, the breakdown of translational invariance induced by the breakdown ofC symmetry is discussed. If translational invariance is abandoned, (anti)periodic spatial b.c. for fermions and for theSU(3) gauge field andC-periodic b.c. for theU(1) gauge field can be used.  相似文献
