Three fast and efficient "scan-along" algorithms for compressing digitized electrocardiographic data are described. These algorithms are "scan-along" in the sense that they produce the compressed data in real time as the electrocardiogram is generated. The algorithms are based on the minimum perimeter polygonal approximation for digitized curves. The approximation restricts the maximum error to be no greater than a specified value. Our algorithms achieve a compression ratio of ten on a database of 8000 5-beat abnormal electrocardiograms sampled at 250 Hz and a compression ratio of eleven on a database of 600 3-beat normal electrocardiograms (different from the preceding database) sampled at 500 Hz. 相似文献

During January and February 1996, a significant number of tarball/patty incidents occurred along the coasts of Vancouver Island, Washington, Oregon, and California. Samples of the tarballs were collected from the affected beaches and analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and gas chromatography/flame ionization detector (GC/FID) using a tiered analytical approach developed for determining the origin of oils. Selected samples were further analyzed using a carbon isotopic technique. Also, the relative abundances of a large number of “source-specific marker” compounds, in particular alkylated series of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons within the same alkylation isomeric groups, were compared. Results of the analysis revealed that (1) California/Oregon samples were chemically similar and consistent with the same source. They were identified to be bunker type fuel; (2) The tarball samples collected from British Columbia and Ocean Shores, Washington were chemically similar and consistent with the same source (also bunker type fuel). They were found to be similar to but may have a source different than the California/Oregon samples; (3) The source of the tarball/patty samples was neither Alaska North Slope oil nor California Monterrey Miocene oil; (4) The spilled oil samples have been highly weathered since release, and the California samples were more heavily weathered than the British Columbia samples. 相似文献

Monomethylamine (MMA) and ethylamine (EtA) accumulate in uremia. However, the urinary clearances of these compounds in normal humans and those with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have not been studied. In this work, an LC based fluorescence assay for MMA and EtA was developed. In applying the method, we found that some previous assays of urinary levels of MMA and EtA lead to overestimations. Normal subjects with average creatinine clearance of 82 ± 21 mL min?1 demonstrate clearances for the two aliphatic amines less than the creatinine clearance, and in the range of urinary urea clearance. CKD subjects with an average creatinine clearance of 37 ± 12 mL min?1 had modestly but significantly elevated serum levels of MMA and EtA above normals. Their fractional clearances were increased markedly compared to normals, mitigating the rise in their plasma levels. These findings imply enhanced secretion and/or reduced reabsorption of the amines with CKD. 相似文献
