It is well known that giant magnetoresistive (GMR) heads used for hard disk drives (HDD) are very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). In this paper, we describe a method of categorizing ESD damage modes from a standpoint of magnetic influences on the heads as observed by quasi-static test (QST) characteristics as well as electromagnetic characteristics like off-track profiles. In addition, we report an example of GMR stack interlayer diffusion which is one type of hard ESD damage. We also present an example of ESD damage that happened in an actual production process and its preventive measures as guidelines.  相似文献

A modified light-fluorous Mukaiyama reagent bearing a C8F17 tag was prepared and examined in ester and amide forming condensation reactions. Following the reactions, the desired product was effectively separated from the fluorous pyridone by-product using a simple fluorous solid phase extraction.  相似文献

The separation of diastereomeric esters derived from (±)-pyridylethanols and 3β-acetoxyetienic acid were achieved by an extraction technique using diethyl ether and aqueous hydrochloric acid. A formal total synthesis of PNU-142721 was effectively carried out to prepare the chiral, non-racemic synthon 1-furo[2,3-c]pyridin-5-yl-ethanol (1) by means of this technique. The structure optimized using MOPAC calculations on each diastereomer suggested the presence of intramolecular CH/π interaction in only the (S)-isomer of the diastereomers.  相似文献

The combination of the water-soluble radical initiator, 2,2'-azobis[2-(2-imidazolin-2-yl)propane] dihydrochloride (VA-044) and the surfactant, cetyltrimethyl-ammonium bromide (CTAB), was found to be the most suitable condition for the effective and direct synthesis of useful active thioesters (pentafluorophenyl thioesters) in water. In addition, the direct amidation of aldehydes was achieved by the addition of the amines to the thioesterification reaction mixture in water.  相似文献

Ferulic Acid (FA) is a highly abundant phenolic phytochemical which is present in plant tissues. FA has biological effects on physiological and pathological processes due to its anti-apoptotic and anti-oxidative properties, however, the detailed mechanism(s) of function is poorly understood. We have identified FA as a molecule that inhibits apoptosis induced by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or actinomycin D (ActD) in rat pheochromocytoma, PC12 cell. We also found that FA reduces H2O2-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production in PC12 cell, thereby acting as an anti-oxidant. Then, we analyzed FA-mediated signaling responses in rat pheochromocytoma, PC12 cells using antibody arrays for phosphokinase and apoptosis related proteins. This FA signaling pathway in PC12 cells includes inactivation of pro-apoptotic proteins, SMAC/Diablo and Bad. In addition, FA attenuates the cell injury by H2O2 through the inhibition of phosphorylation of the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK). Importantly, we find that FA restores expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a key neuroprotective effector, in H2O2-treated PC12 cells. As a possible mechanism, FA increases BDNF by regulating microRNA-10b expression following H2O2 stimulation. Taken together, FA has broad biological effects as a neuroprotective modulator to regulate the expression of phosphokinases, apoptosis-related proteins and microRNAs against oxidative stress in PC12 cells.  相似文献

Polyethylene‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PE‐b‐PMMA) was successfully synthesized through the combination of metallocene catalysis with living radical polymerization. Terminally hydroxylated polyethylene, prepared by ethylene/allyl alcohol copolymerization with a specific zirconium metallocene/methylaluminoxane/triethylaluminum catalyst system, was treated with 2‐bromoisobutyryl bromide to produce terminally esterified polyethylene (PE‐Br). With the resulting PE‐Br as an initiator for transition‐metal‐mediated living radical polymerization, methyl methacrylate polymerization was subsequently performed with CuBr or RuCl2(PPh3)3 as a catalyst. Then, PE‐b‐PMMA block copolymers of different poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) contents were prepared. Transmission electron microscopy of the obtained block copolymers revealed unique morphological features that depended on the content of the PMMA segment. The block copolymer possessing 75 wt % PMMA contained 50–100‐nm spherical polyethylene lamellae uniformly dispersed in the PMMA matrix. Moreover, the PE‐b‐PMMA block copolymers effectively compatibilized homopolyethylene and homo‐PMMA at a nanometer level. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The kinetics and mechanisms of the self-reaction of allyl radicals and the cross-reaction between allyl and propargyl radicals were studied both experimentally and theoretically. The experiments were carried out over the temperature range 295-800 K and the pressure range 20-200 Torr (maintained by He or N(2)). The allyl and propargyl radicals were generated by the pulsed laser photolysis of respective precursors, 1,5-hexadiene and propargyl chloride, and were probed by using a cavity ring-down spectroscopy technique. The temperature-dependent absorption cross sections of the radicals were measured relative to that of the HCO radical. The rate constants have been determined to be k(C(3)H(5) + C(3)H(5)) = 1.40 × 10(-8)T(-0.933) exp(-225/T) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) (Δ log(10)k = ± 0.088) and k(C(3)H(5) + C(3)H(3)) = 1.71 × 10(-7)T(-1.182) exp(-255/T) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) (Δ log(10)k = ± 0.069) with 2σ uncertainty limits. The potential energy surfaces for both reactions were calculated with the CBS-QB3 and CASPT2 quantum chemical methods, and the product channels have been investigated by the steady-state master equation analyses based on the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus theory. The results indicated that the reaction between allyl and propargyl radicals produces five-membered ring compounds in combustion conditions, while the formations of the cyclic species are unlikely in the self-reaction of allyl radicals. The temperature- and pressure-dependent rate constant expressions for the important reaction pathways are presented for kinetic modeling.  相似文献

This critical review highlights the "ligand oriented catalyst design concept", a new catalyst design concept for olefin polymerization that has led to the development of high-activity catalysts. The concept has created a series of highly active ethylene polymerization catalysts, many of which show high activities comparable to those of group 4 metallocene catalysts. Moreover, these catalysts display unique polymerization catalysis to produce a wide variety of polymers that possess unprecedented molecular architectures that are either difficult or impossible to achieve using conventional catalysts (98 references).  相似文献

Light fluorous versions of first- and second-generation Grubbs-Hoveyda metathesis catalysts are introduced. These exhibit the expected reactivity profile, are readily recovered from reaction mixtures by fluorous solid-phase extraction, and can be routinely reused five or more times. The catalysts can be used in a stand alone fashion, or supported on fluorous silica gel.  相似文献

A simple method for the determination of the absolute configuration of 1-arylethanthiols was achieved by the observation of an intramolecular CH/pi shielding effect in (1)H-NMR of the corresponding thiol esters. (S)-Isomer of the diastereomers always shows remarkable shielding effect.  相似文献
