In the present paper a procedure is proposed for the determination of traces of Cd, Co, Mn and Cr in petroleum industry produced water by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The procedure is based on cloud point extraction of these metals, as their dithizonate complexes, into the surfactant-rich phase of octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol surfactant (Triton X-114). Extractions were carried out in solutions with salinities between 10‰ and 70‰. Since residual salinity in the surfactant-rich phase caused differences in its transport to the plasma, yttrium was used as an internal standard to correct for this effect. The simultaneous metal extraction procedure was optimized by response surface methodology using a Doehlert design and desirability function. Enhancement factors of 21, 21, 9 and 19, along with limits of quantification of 0.093, 0.20, 0.73 and 1.2 μg L− 1, and precision expressed as relative standard deviation (n = 8, 20.0 μg L− 1) of 5.8, 1.2, 1.7 and 5.7% were obtained for Cd, Co, Mn and Cr, respectively. The accuracy was evaluated by spike recovery tests on the high salinity water samples with salinity of 40 and 63‰.  相似文献

Starting with Co‐salt‐loaded inverse micelles, which form if the diblock copolymer polystyrene‐block‐poly(2‐vinylpyridine) is dissolved in a selective solvent like toluene and CoCl2 is added to the solution, monomicellar arrays of such micelles exhibiting a significant hexagonal order can be prepared on top of various substrates with tailored intermicellar distances and structure heights. In order to remove the polymer matrix and to finally obtain arrays of pure Co nanoparticles, the micelles are first exposed to an oxygen plasma, followed by a treatment in a hydrogen plasma. Applying in‐situ X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, it is demonstrated that: 1) The oxygen plasma completely removes the polymer, though conserving the original order of the micellar array. Furthermore, the resulting nanoparticles are entirely oxidized with a chemical shift of the Co 2p3/2 line pointing to the formation of Co3O4. 2) By the subsequent hydrogen plasma treatment the nanoparticles are fully reduced to metallic Co. 3) By exposing the pure Co nanoparticles for 100 s to various oxygen partial pressures pequation/tex2gif-inf-5.gif, a stepwise oxidation is observed with a still metallic Co core surrounded by an oxide shell. The data allow the extraction of the thickness of the oxide shell as a function of the total exposure to oxygen (pequation/tex2gif-inf-7.gif × time), thus giving the opportunity to control the ferromagnetic–antiferromagnetic composition of an exchange‐biased magnetic system.  相似文献

The photoinduced metathesis [W(CO)6CCl4hν] of cis- and trans-RCH=CHMe gives 2-butene in a very high trans but low cis stereoselectivity. Propene behaves like a cis olefin. These results are consistent with the proposal of a dinuclear tungsten intermediate, which requires high steric constraints in the transalkylidenation step.  相似文献

A method is presented to reduce the memory requirement of normal mode analysis applied to systems containing two or more large proteins when these systems exhibit symmetry properties. We use a rigid geometry model (i.e., only the dihedral angles of the polypeptide chain are considered as variables). This model allows a reduction by a factor of 8 on average of the number of variables with a concomitant freezing of the high-frequency modes. The symmetry properties of the system are used to reduce further the number of variables that must be considered in the computation. Application of group theory leads to a factorization of the matrices of interest (the coefficient and the Hessian matrices) into independent blocks along the diagonal. The initial, reducible representation is thus transformed into a number of irreducible representations of smaller dimensions. In the case of the C2 symmetry group, the method leads to a reduction of the size of the matrices that must be manipulated during the computation (coefficient matrix, Hessian matrix, and eigenvectors matrix) by a factor of 256 compared with the usual normal mode analysis in Cartesian coordinate space. The method is particularly well adapted to the study of the dynamics of oligomeric proteins because these proteins often display symmetry properties (e.g., virus coat proteins, immunoglobulins, hemoglobin, etc.). In favorable cases, in conjunction with X-ray diffuse scattering data, the study of systems showing allosteric properties might be considered. © 1994 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Cyclopropanols 5, 6 and 2 with substituent groups (-CH2OH, -CH2OTs, -CH2Br) in the 1-position, and oxaspiropentane 8, have been prepared from methylenecyclopropane. Cyclopropanols with vinyl groups in the 1-position (1-vinyl 12, 1-cyclopentenyl 13 and 1-cyclohexenyl 14) and 1-cyclopropylcyclopropanol 20 have been prepared from 1, 3-dichloroacetone.Each of the compounds readily undergoes ring expansion to the corresponding cyclobutanones. The reaction provides a simple route to cyclobutanones, the parent ketone itself being easily obtained from oxaspiropentane 8.  相似文献

DNA chips are potentially powerful technologies for genotyping and gene expression profiling that rely on comparative analyses of up to thousands of "spots of analysis" on a glass support. The spot quality throughout the support influences spot-to-spot variations within an array and the repeatability of data across experiments. For glass slide DNA microarrays, droplets of DNA solution are deposited on functionalized glass slides and left to react through complete evaporation of the droplet. On hydrophobic flat surfaces, different modes of droplet evaporation can be attained. Under atmospheric pressure, water droplets tend to evaporate under two main regimes. Initially, the droplet flattens with a constant contact area, and then the droplet shrinks at a constant contact angle. As a result, the diameter and morphology of thousands of spots on microarrays are not uniform. This leads to poor and unreliable data processing results. In this work, we report the evaporation of an aqueous solution under a constant contact area mode. Evaporation under reduced pressure and the effect of reagent additives to the solution have been investigated. Video microscopy and digital image analysis techniques were applied to monitor the evaporation of the droplets. A mixture of surfactants was developed to maintain a constant area regime during evaporation and to form homogeneous spots. The control of some physicochemical properties (wetting, evaporation rate) of the droplet allows the formation of well-controlled spots compatible with DNA grafting. The influence of surfactant molecules on the mechanisms of evaporation is also discussed.  相似文献

The binding of d- and l-tryptophan molecules to bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein has been studied using liquid chromatography and ultrafiltration in the pH range from 7 to 11. A hydrophobic interaction between tryptophan and BSA has been observed at pH 7.0 on BSA grafted chromatographic column. However, this interaction is negligible at higher pH for which the interaction to the stereospecific site was predominant. For both grafted and free proteins, the complexation mechanism was a competitive binding of d- and l-enantiomers on a single site. The apparent complexation constants for both d- and l-tryptophan show a maximum in the pH range 9-10. The variations of the apparent complexation constants versus pH were the result of the protonation of both the amino acid and a single site of the protein assuming that the complexation occurs between the zwitter-ionic amino acid form and the unprotonated BSA site. The apparent pK(BSA) is slightly shifted from 8.3 for grafted BSA protein to 9.4 for free BSA protein. This shift is presumably as a result of the different protein conformation.  相似文献

Mixed lithium-lithium oxide aggregates are experimentally obtained from unimolecular evaporative cascades starting at metal rich Li p + (Li2O)n species and ending with the stoichiometric limit Li+(Li2O)n, for several sizes of the oxide part (Li2O)n with 0 ≤ n ≤ 8. The results show evidence of the vanishing of the properties of the quantum metallic droplet i.e. shell closing and odd-even alternation, portrayed in the dissociation energy, with increasing size of the oxide component. The competition between monomer and dimer lithium evaporation from the heated metal rich Li p + (Li2O)n species points out the influence of the perturbation induced by the oxide component on the mixed metal oxide clusters.  相似文献

Biodegradable polyurethanes are an interesting alternative to many applications that involve plastics since they can minimize environmental problems caused by the low rates of natural degradation of synthetic polymers. In addition, since waterborne polyurethanes are based on aqueous dispersions, they restrict the use of organic solvents during processing and application of the polymer, thus contributing furthermore to reduce environmental damage. In this work, aqueous anionic polyurethane dispersions (PUD) with tailorable susceptibility for hydrolysis were synthesized by progressively replacing polypropylene glycol (PPG) with a biodegradable polycaprolactone diol (PCL) as soft segments. The hard segments were formed by extending isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) with hydrazine (HZ). Dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) was used as ionic center and triethyl amine (TEA) as neutralizer. The degree of phase separation was evaluated mainly by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). The results indicated that phase separation between hard and soft segments of poly(ester-urethane) is more significant than that of poly(ether-urethane). Data obtained from SAXS experiments indicated that phase separation within soft domains can also be present in samples containing both polyester and polyether soft segments. Hydrolytic degradation of the polymers in buffer solution of pH 7.4 and alkaline solution was performed as an initial test. The results showed that the fraction of polyester soft segments in the polyurethanes can be used to tailor the susceptibility of the materials to hydrolytic attack. Polyurethanes having higher contents of polyester were more promptly hydrolytically degraded than polyurethanes containing only polyether segments.  相似文献

Water-soluble, amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized by reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. They consist of poly(butyl acrylate) as hydrophobic block with a low glass transition temperature and three different nonionic water-soluble blocks, namely, the classical hydrophilic block poly(dimethylacrylamide), the strongly hydrophilic poly(acryloyloxyethyl methylsulfoxide), and the thermally sensitive poly(N-acryloylpyrrolidine). Aqueous micellar solutions of the block copolymers were prepared and characterized by static and dynamic light scattering analysis (DLS and SLS). No critical micelle concentration could be detected. The micellization was thermodynamically favored, although kinetically slow, exhibiting a marked dependence on the preparation conditions. The polymers formed micelles with a hydrodynamic diameter from 20 to 100 nm, which were stable upon dilution. The micellar size was correlated with the composition of the block copolymers and their overall molar mass. The micelles formed with the two most hydrophilic blocks were particularly stable upon temperature cycles, whereas the thermally sensitive poly(N-acryloylpyrrolidine) block showed a temperature-induced precipitation. According to combined SLS and DLS analysis, the micelles exhibited an elongated shape such as rods or worms. It should be noted that the block copolymers with the most hydrophilic poly(sulfoxide) block formed inverse micelles in certain organic solvents.  相似文献
