Thermodynamic fluctuations in systems that are in nonequilibrium steady states are always spatially long ranged, in contrast to fluctuations in thermodynamic equilibrium. In the present paper we consider a fluid subjected to a stationary temperature gradient. Two different physical mechanisms have been identified by which the temperature gradient causes long-ranged fluctuations. One cause is the presence of couplings between fluctuating fields. Secondly, spatial variation of the strength of random forces, resulting from the local version of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, has also been shown to generate long-ranged fluctuations. We evaluate the contributions to the long-ranged temperature fluctuations due to both mechanisms. While the inhomogeneously correlated Langevin noise does lead to long-ranged fluctuations, in practice, they turn out to be negligible as compared to nonequilibrium temperature fluctuations resulting from the coupling between temperature and velocity fluctuations.  相似文献

Several bis-pyrano-l,4-benzoquinones have been synthesized by a double domino Knoevenagel hetero Diels-Alder reaction. The synthetic approach is highly efficient allowing the construction of complex polycyclic scaffolds with six new σ-bonds. These reactions performed more efficiently and more rapidly using microwave irradiation. The resulting bis-pyrano-1,4-benzoquinones are the first examples of a double domino Knoevenagel hetero Diels-Alder reaction. Our approach represents a novel contribution to the chemistry of 2,5-dihydroxy-l,4-benzoquinones and the first general method for the synthesis of bis-pyranobenzoquinones.  相似文献

An experimental setup that coupled IR multiple‐photon dissociation (IRMPD) and laser‐induced fluorescence (LIF) techniques was implemented to study the kinetics of the recombination reaction of dichlorocarbene radicals, CCl2, in an Ar bath. The CCl2 radicals were generated by IRMPD of CDCl3. The time dependence of the CCl2 radicals’ concentration in the presence of Ar was determined by LIF. The experimental conditions achieved allowed us to associate the decrease in the concentration of radicals to the self‐recombination reaction to form C2Cl4. The rate constant for this reaction was determined in both the falloff and the high‐pressure regimes at room temperature. The values obtained were k0 = (2.23 ± 0.89) × 10?29 cm6 molecules?2 s?1 and k = (6.73 ± 0.23) × 10?13 cm3 molecules?1 s?1, respectively.  相似文献

Dendritic cells are antigen-presenting cells, which identify and process pathogens to subsequently activate specific T lymphocytes. To regulate the immune responses, DCs have to mature by the recognition of TLR ligands, TNFα or IFNγ. These ligands have been used as adjuvants to activate DCs in situ or in vitro, with toxic effects. It has been shown that some molecules affect the immune system, e.g., Masticadienonic acid (MDA) and 3α-hydroxy masticadienoic acid (3α-OH MDA) triterpenes naturally occurring in several medicinal plants, since they activate the nitric oxide synthase in macrophages and induce T lymphocyte proliferation. The DCs maturation induced by MDA or 3a-OH MDA was determined by incubating these cells with MDA or 3α-OH MDA, and their phenotype was afterwards analyzed. The results showed that only 3α-OH MDA was able to induce DCs maturation. When mice with melanoma were inoculated with DCs/3α-OH MDA, a decreased tumor growth rate was observed along with an extended cell death area within tumors compared to mice treated with DCs incubated with MDA. In conclusion, it is proposed that 3α-OH MDA may be an immunostimulant molecule. Conversely, it is proposed that MDA may be a molecule with anti-inflammatory properties.  相似文献

The reaction of the organometallic carboxylic acid HOOCCCHCo(2)(CO)(6) with copper(II) methoxide leads to a new inorganometallic cluster; Cu(3)[mu(2)-(CCHCo(2)(CO)(6))](3). This cluster has a triangular core of copper(I) centers surrounded by three CCHCo(2)(CO)(6) fragments. The structure of the cluster has short Cu-Cu and Cu-Co distances (average 2.500 and 2.540 A, respectively). DFT calculations provide a rationalization of the peculiar bonding in this cluster.  相似文献

In recent years it has become evident that fluctuating hydrodynamics predicts that fluctuations in nonequilibrium states are always spatially long ranged. In this paper we consider the application of fluctuating hydrodynamics to laminar fluid flow, using plane Couette flow as a representative example. Specifically, fluctuating hydrodynamics yields a stochastic Orr-Sommerfeld equation for the wall-normal velocity fluctuations, where spontaneous thermal noise acts as a random source.This stochastic equation needs to be solved subject to appropriate boundary conditions. We show how an exact solution can be obtained from an expansion in terms of the eigenfunctions of the Orr-Sommerfeld hydrodynamic operator. We demonstrate the presence of a flow-induced enhancement of the wall-normal velocity fluctuations and a resulting flow-induced energy amplification and provide a quantitative analysis how these quantities depend on wave number and Reynolds number.  相似文献
