The program for calculating the fields of characteristic physical quantities in a twodimensional diffusion-induced flow over an impermeable strip immersed in a continuously stratified fluid at rest is developed on the basis of the fundamental system of equations. The flow patterns are presented with a high spatial resolution, the complicated structure of compensation flows near the strip edges is studied, and the ranges of applicability of the previously obtained analytical (asymptotic) solutions are determined. The calculated results are in agreement with the data of high-resolution shadow visualization of streaky structures adjoining the edges of the fixed strip immersed in a stratified fluid.  相似文献

The results of the study of optical and luminescence characteristics of new LFS-3 heavy scintillation crystals are presented. Advantages of these crystals in comparison with conventional scintillators are discussed. The radiation resistance of LFS-3 scintillation crystals is studied using an intense 60Co radioactive source and a proton beam with an energy of 155 MeV. No changes in the optical transmission of LFS-3 crystals after their irradiation with a dose of 23 Mrad are detected.  相似文献

The frequency-field and orientation dependences of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra are measured for impurity Tm3+ ions in yttrium orthosilicate (Y2SiO5) single crystals by stationary EPR spectroscopy in the frequency range of 50–100 GHz at 4.2 K. The position of the impurity ion in the crystal lattice and its magnetic characteristics are determined. The temperature dependences of the spin–lattice and phase relaxation times are measured by pulse EPR methods in the temperature range of 5–15 K and the high efficiency of the direct single-phonon mechanism of spin–lattice relaxation is established. This greatly shortens the spin–lattice relaxation time at low temperatures and makes impurity Tm3+ ions in Y2SiO5 a promising basis for the implementation of high-speed quantum memory based on rare-earth ions in dielectric crystals.  相似文献

New scintillation orthovanadate crystals Ca:GdVO4 and Ca:YVO4 featuring intrinsic luminescence are grown. The spectra of pulsed cathodoluminescence of new scintillators and their luminescence decay time are studied. Using γ-rays with an energy of 662 keV from the 137Cs source, total absorption spectra (so-called photopeaks) for new orthovanadate crystals are measured. It is shown that the light yield of Ca:YVO4 and Ca:GdVO4 crystals is 28100 photon/MeV and 14000 photon/MeV, respectively.  相似文献

4 as a host for neodymium has several advantages for diode pumping in comparison with other crystals. The absorption cross section of neodymium in GdVO4 is considerably stronger and broader than in YAG. This allows for the construction of very compact monolithical microchip lasers. In our paper, we report for the first time on a diode-pumped monolithical Nd3+([%at.]1.3):GdVO4 microchip laser at 1.06 μm. A maximum output power of 5 W is achieved. The temporal and the spectral emission properties are described. The beam propagation properties are studied in detail. The use of glasses doped with PbS nanocrystals as intracavity saturable absorbers for passive Q-switching and mode locking of c-cut Nd:Gd0.7Y0.3VO4, Nd:YVO4, and Nd:GdVO4 lasers is investigated. Q-switching yields pulses as short as 35 ns with an average output power of 435 mW at a repetition rate of 6–12 kHz at a pump power of 5–6 W. Mode locking through a combination of PbS nanocrystals and a Kerr lens results in 1.4 ps long pulses with an average output power of 255 mW at a repetition rate of 100 MHz.  相似文献

The composition of gadolinium-scandium-aluminium (GSAG) and yttrium-scandium-aluminium (YSAG) garnet crystals grown by the Czochralski method and by floating zone melting was analysed. It is shown that Sc3+ and Al3+ ions in GSAG and Y3+, Sc3+ and Al3+ ions in YSAG can simultaneously occupy two types of sites in the lattice. The congruent melting composition of GSAG is {Gd2.88Sc0.12} [Sc1.77Al0.23] (Al3)O12. The homogeneity range of GSAG is rather narrow. In the Y2O3-Sc2O3-Al2O3 system a wide range of garnet-structured solid solutions exist. However, there is no ternary garnet that melts congruently. Distribution coefficients of components in YSAG are slightly varied from unity in the whole concentration range, and as the melt composition approaches YAG they tend to unity. Cr3+ and Nd3+ distribution coefficients in GSAG and YSAG are presented.

Acousto-optic Q-switched lasing has been obtained for the first time in a Tm:Ho:YbAGcrystal. The laser output power is analyzed as a function of the laser pulse repetition rate. It is found that at rates above 30 kHz the laser slope efficiency reaches maximum values (~20 to 30%), comparable with the efficiency in the cw mode. The shortest laser pulse width is about 40 ns, and the average output power reaches about 80mW.  相似文献
