The complete gene coding for human neutrophilactivating protein-1/interleukin-8 was synthesized using a semi-chemical semi-enzymatic method. The synthetic gene was then overexpressed in Escherichia coli under the temperature-regulated control of the P_RP_L tandem promoters. As determined by SDS-PAGE and densitometry, the overexpressed protein comprised up to 18.5% and 10.9% of the total soluble protein in E. coli cells grown in shake flasks and in batch fermentation, respectively. The recombinant NAP-1/IL-8 was then purified to>95% homogeneity by gel filtration and cation exchange chromatography. The purified protein appeared as a single band on the SDS-PAGE gel and possessed potent chemotactic activity in the concentration of <10 ng/ml, as assayed by the agarose plate method. An early skin reactivity was also observed when the pure NAP-1/IL-8 was injected subcutaneously into the rabbits. The production of the intermediate mass dileptons originating from the annihilation and Compton scattering of the jets and high energy photons (resolved photons) passing through the quark-gluon plasma is calculated. The contribution of the dilepton yield due to the jet-plasma and high energy photon-plasma interaction is pronounced compared to the thermal and Drell-Yan dilepton spectrum at intermediate mass. The ordinary spectrum of thermal and Drell-Yan processes is enhanced by the jet and photon-plasma mechanism. The numerical results match to the PHENIX data accurately in the intermediate mass region for Au-Au 200 GeV/A collisions at RHIC.  相似文献

The dependencies of two-jet cross section on renormalization scale and factorization scales of resolved photon and proton are investigated up to next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD. We calculate inclusive light vector mesons (p,w, and φ) production in relativistic heavy ion collisions based on the idea of gluon saturation in the color glass condensate (CGC) framework. At high energies, the value of saturation momentum becomes larger than the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) confinement scale ΛQCD, which implies that s(Qs) << 1. Using the relativistic kinetic theory, we derive the production rate for the light vector mesons produced by gluon-gluon fusion in the kT -factorization approach. The numerical results indicate that the light vector mesons from the color glass condensate become prominent in p-p, p-Pb, and Pb-Pb collisions at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies.  相似文献

The cold component of large transverse momentum dilepton production via semi-coherent two-photon interaction is calculated.The cold contribution is essential to the dilepton spectra in the soft region for different mass bins.The results are compared with the PHENIX experimental data at RHIC,and we find that the modification of semi-coherent two-photon processes is more evident with the rising dilepton mass bins.  相似文献

We calculate the production of large mass dileptons from the passage of jets passing through the quark-gluon plasma. Using the relativistic kinetic theory, we rigorously derive the production rate for the jet-dilepton conversion in the hot medium. The jet-dilepton conversion is compared with the thermal dilepton emission and the Drell-Yan process. The contribution of the jet-dilepton conversion is not prominent for all values of the invariant mass M, and the Drell-Yan process is found to dominate over the thermal dilepton emission and the jet-dilepton conversion for M>2.5 GeV at RHIC. The jet-dilepton conversion is the dominant source of large mass dileptons in the range of 4 GeV<M<10 GeV at LHC.  相似文献

We calculate the production of prompt and thermal photons which includes the contribution of gluons in relativistic heavy ion collisions with the equilibrium and non-equilibrium quark-gluon plasma. We develop a new thermal jet-photon conversion mechanism which plays a vital role in the low transverse momentum region. The effect of the non-equilibrium quark-gluon plasma enhances the contribution of the thermal photons. The shadowing and iso-spin of the nucleus which can properly estimate the prompt photon production are also considered in our calculation.  相似文献
