g-Faktoren und Multipol-Mischungsverhältnisse in156Gd

By integral perturbedγ-γ-angular correlation the gyromagnetic ratios of a 2-quasi-particle state at 1,513 keV and the 4⁺ state of the ground state rotational band in¹⁵⁶Gd were measured, using sources prepared by¹⁵⁹Tb(γ, 3n) and¹⁵⁶Gd(d, 2n) reactions:g _{1;513 keV} ⁴⁺ =0.78±0.05;g _R ⁴⁺ =0.37±0.05. In addition we obtain the multipole mixing ratiosδ _{535 keV}(M2/E1)=?0.09±0.01;δ _{1,225 keV}(E2/M1)=+1.83±0.10 for the 535 keV and 1,225 keVγ-rays. The classification of the 1,513 keV state is discussed. The internal field of Gd in Tb metal at 77 °K was found to beH=(?192±16)kOe.

Solid solutions between the compounds Nb₃Al, Nb₃Ga, Nb₃Ge, Nb₃In, and Nb₃Sn have been prepared by arc melting in argon atmosphere. Transitions to superconductivity, lattice constants and values of microhardness have been measured for all samples as cast as well as annealed. In agreement withMatthias et al. the highest transition to superconductivity at 20.05 °K has been observed in the system Nb₃(Al_1?xGe_x). A relation between microhardness and transition to superconductivity also expressed byMatthias has been verified for most of the systems.     

Analysis of the reaction K−p → K−π−π+p at 40 GeV/c

The reaction K^?p → K^?π^?π⁺p has been measured at 25 and 40 GeV/c at the Serpukhov Proton Accelerator. The production cross section at 25 and 40 GeV/c as a function of momentum transfer and Kππ mass is presented, and results of the partial-wave analysis of the Kππ system yielding information about Q(1300), K¹(1400) and L(1770) mesons are discussed.     

Missing-mass spectra observed in π + p → p + X at 25 and 40 GeV/c

Missing-mass spectra were obtained in the reaction π⁻p → p X⁻ at 25 and 40 GeV/c at the Serpukhov Accelerator. At low masses a strong peak at 1.3 and a smaller one near 1.7 GeV are observed. In the mass region above 2 GeV no structure exceeding 3μb/(geV/c² is seen.

The half lives of the 289 keV- and the 1513 keV levels in¹⁵⁶Gd are measured by delayed coincidence techniques.

γ-γ-angular correlation measurements with Ge(Li) detectors and NaJ(Tl) detectors provided theE2/M1 mixing ratios of the following gamma transitions: 3 ₁ ⁺ →2 ₂ ⁺ (475.3 keV), 2 ₂ ⁺ →2 ₁ ⁺ (563.3 keV), 4 ₂ ⁺ →4 ₁ ⁺ (569.4 keV), 3 ₁ ⁺ →2 ₁ ⁺ (1,039 keV). The angular correlation measurements were only consistent with spin 3 of the 1,643 keV level. The half life of the 1,401 keV level was determined by delayed coincidence techniques to beT _1/2 (1,401 keV)≦30 ps.
