Systematical study of beta delayed proton emission energies

Graphs are given of the maximum proton energies in delayed proton emitters. This quantity, equal to the difference of the electron capture decay energy of the precursor and the separation energy of a proton in the daughter, has been calculated in a least squares adjustment of mass spectroscopic data and nuclear decay and reaction energies. The graphs would lead to expect a 950 keV lower maximum proton energy in⁷³Kr(?p)⁷²Se than has been reported from experiments. They can be used to predict new cases for further studies on this subject.

This last paper in a series of four describes the philosophy and procedures in selecting nuclear-reaction and decay data and mass-spectrometric results as input for the calculation of best values for relative atomic masses. Both accepted and rejected data are presented in a table and there compared with the adjusted values.

In this article, we derive the intrinsic equations for a generalized relaxed elastic line on an oriented surface in the Galilean 3-dimensional space G₃. These equations will give direct and more geometric approach to questions concerning about generalized relaxed elastic lines on an oriented surface in G₃.     

Lentivirus-mediated transgene delivery to the hippocampus reveals sub-field specific differences in expression

Background  

In the adult hippocampus, the granule cell layer of the dentate gyrus is a heterogeneous structure formed by neurons of different ages, morphologies and electrophysiological properties. Retroviral vectors have been extensively used to transduce cells of the granule cell layer and study their inherent properties in an intact brain environment. In addition, lentivirus-based vectors have been used to deliver transgenes to replicative and non-replicative cells as well, such as post mitotic neurons of the CNS. However, only few studies have been dedicated to address the applicability of these widespread used vectors to hippocampal cells in vivo. Therefore, the aim of this study was to extensively characterize the cell types that are effectively transduced in vivo by VSVg-pseudotyped lentivirus-based vectors in the hippocampus dentate gyrus.     

The 1983 atomic mass evaluation: (II). Nuclear-reaction and separation energies

The present table gives values and their estimated precision for the separation energies and reaction energies representing together twelve carefully selected combinations of nuclides with ΔA < 5. These data are derived from a least-squares evaluation of all available experimental data. A method is indicated in which many more reaction energy values can be derived from the present data.
