The double-electron-capture Q value for the 136Ce decay to 136Ba has been determined at JYFLTRAP. The measured value 2378.53(27) keV excludes the energy degeneracy with the 0+ excited state of the decay daughter 136Ba at 2315.32(7) keV in a resonant 0νECEC decay by 11.67 keV. The new Q value differs from the old adopted value 2419(13) keV (Atomic Mass Evaluation 2003) by 40 keV and is 50 times more precise. Our calculations show that the precise Q value renders the resonant 0νECEC decay of 136Ce undetectable by the future underground detectors. We measured also the double-β decay Q value of 136Xe to be 2457.86(48) keV which agrees well with the value 2457.83(37) keV measured at the Florida State University. 相似文献

The Q value of the neutrinoless double-electron-capture (0νECEC) decay of 74Se was measured by using the JYFLTRAP Penning trap. The determined value is 1209.169(49) keV, which practically excludes the possibility of a complete energy degeneracy with the second 2+ state (1204.205(7) keV) of 74Ge in a resonant 0νECEC decay. We have also computed the associated nuclear matrix element by using a microscopic nuclear model with realistic two-nucleon interactions. The computed matrix element is found to be quite small. The failure of the resonant condition, combined with the small nuclear matrix element and needed p-wave capture, suppresses the decay rate strongly and thus excludes 74Se as a possible candidate to search for resonant 0νECEC processes. 相似文献

In this article we compare the classical monopole mass filter of von Zahn and the monopole mass filter with a hyperbolic V-shaped electrode. The experimental results and those of computer simulation for both mass spectrometers are presented. We show that the replacement of a conventional 90 degrees V-shaped electrode by an electrode with a hyperbolic profile substantially improves the peak shape of any given mass, and increases the mass resolution by a factor of 3-4 and the abundance sensitivity by a factor of 100. The potential of high analytical performance combined with electroforming techniques for electrode manufacture indicate future practical uses of such instruments. Levels in 125La have been studied via #+/EC decay of on-line mass-separated 125Ce using the HIGISOL technique. A new (390 - 40) ms isomer is definitely attributed to 125La by conversion electron measurements of the 107 keV E3 isomeric transition. 相似文献

The scale dependence of the ratios of parton distributions in a proton of a nucleus A and in the free proton, , is studied within the framework of the lowest order leading-twist DGLAP evolution. By evolving the initial nuclear distributions
obtained with the GRV-LO and CTEQ4L sets at a scale , we show that the ratios are only moderately sensitive to the choice of a specific modern set of free parton distributions. We propose that to a good
first approximation, this parton distribution set-dependence of the nuclear ratios can be neglected in practical applications. With this result, we offer a numerical parametrization of for all parton flavours i in any , and at any and any for computing cross sections of hard processes in nuclear collisions.

The discovery of neutron rich isotopes of the lightest elements on the neutron drip line exhibiting a halo structure has opened
up new vistas in research activities. The novel structural features associated with the halo phenomena have been the subject
for extensive theoretical and experimental investigations in recent times. In this talk, I propose to present a broad overview
of the recent developments in this field, bringing out the striking features which show that a large number oflight nuclei
near the neutron drip line are characterized by a clear separation between a ‘normal’ core nucleus and a loosely bound low
density veil of neutrons. Specifically, the two neutron halos offer a natural premises, from a theoretical standpoint, to
employ three body techniques for studying their detailed structural properties. A considerable part of the talk will be devoted
to report and highlight the results on a number of light halo nuclei such as 11Li, 11Be, 19B and 22C on which we have been carrying out investigations employing a simple but realistic three body model. These three body systems
which have been termed as ‘Borromean’ (i.e while three body systems are bound, the corresponding binary subsystems on the
other hand are unbound) are characterized by large spacial extension and very low separation energy of the neutron. They are,
therefore, ideally suited for exploring the possibility of the existence of Efimov states in two neutron halo nuclei. We have
recently carried out the three body analyses to predict the possibility of the occurrence of such states on which experimental
work at various laboratories is underway. 相似文献

The MLLTRAP at the Maier-Leibnitz-Laboratory (Garching) is a new Penning trap facility designed to combine several novel technologies
to decelerate, charge breed, cool, bunch and purify the reaction products and perform high-accuracy nuclear and atomic mass
measurements. It is now in the commissioning phase, achieving a mass-resolving power of about 105 in the purification trap for stable ions. 相似文献
