TGF-β1 induction of the adenine nucleotide translocator 1 in astrocytes occurs through Smads and Sp1 transcription factors

Background  

The adenine nucleotide translocator 1 (Ant1) is an inner mitochondrial membrane protein involved with energy mobilization during oxidative phosphorylation. We recently showed that rodent Ant1 is upregulated by transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) in reactive astrocytes following CNS injury. In the present study, we describe the molecular mechanisms by which TGF-β1 regulates Ant1 gene expression in cultured primary rodent astrocytes.     

A study of fast neutron production in p20Ne and pp interactions at 300 GeV/c

Data on the multiplicity, momentum and angular spectra of fastp _n1 GeV/c) neutrons produced in inelastic interactions of protons with neon nuclei and protons at 300 GeV/c are presented. The experimental results obtained for p²⁰Ne interactions are compared with predictions of the additive quark model in which the intranuclear cascading of slow particles is taken into account.We thank V. Multiplicity of charged particles in interactions of neutrons with protons,carbon and neon nuclei in the momentum range (1–200) GeV/c

The data on the multiplicity of charged secondaries produced in inelastic np, n¹²C and n²⁰Ne interactions in the primary momentum range (1–200) GeV/c are presented.
