Highly reactive zinc was readily prepared by electrolysis of a DMF solution containing pyrene as a mediator with a platinum cathode and a zinc anode. Preferential reduction of pyrene occurred to generate the corresponding radical anion, which reduced zinc ions generated from anodic dissolution to give zero valent zinc with high reactivity. The reactive zinc was successfully used for an efficient transformation of bromoalkanes into the corresponding organozinc bromides. Organozinc bromides obtained were further used successfully in Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction with various aryl iodides and bromides. 相似文献
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with porphyrins and red light is receiving increasing attention in the management of malignant tumours. At present PDT is primarily indicated for the treatment of superficial or early-stage lesions. At the Department of Radiotherapy and the First Institute of Surgery in Padova (Italy) more than 150 cases of tumours of different types have been treated using this technique. This paper briefly describes 21 cases of superficial oesophageal cancer. A complete response was observed in 11 of 21 cases. Radiation therapy appeared to be very effective as a salvage treatment of non-response patients. 相似文献
The effect of taurine in protecting biomembrane attacked by hypochlorous acid (HOCl) was examined using canine erythrocytes which had been pre-treated with HOCl. In the treatment, most of the HOCl was consumed as a result of its reaction with a number of electrophilic substances, such as free amino groups (-NH2) in the membrane, whereas hemoglobin inside the cells was not oxidized. The lysis of HOCl-treated erythrocytes was dependent on the concentration of HOCl and on the incubation time at 37 degrees C. Taurine inhibited the lysis at 37 degrees C in a dose dependent manner. During the incubation of HOCl-treated erythrocytes with taurine, an appreciable amount of monochlorotaurine (TauNHCl) was detected in the supernate. This suggests that taurine might remove the oxidized chlorine from HOCl-treated erythrocytes, resulting in the production of TauNHCl. The effect of taurine on the removal of Cl+ moiety was further examined using Sepharose gel with free amino groups. Taurine removed Cl+ moiety from HOCl-treated Sepharose gel, and the yield of TauNHCl depended on the concentration of taurine and the incubation time. These results indicate that taurine might inhibit the hemolysis by scavenging the oxidized chlorine moiety from the HOCl-treated erythrocytes. Inhibition of the HOCl-induced hemolysis was also observed with other amino acids.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS) 相似文献
Pseudomonas acidophila can grow with CO2 as a sole carbon source by the possession of a recombinant plasmid that clones genes that confer chemolithoautotrophic growth ability derived from the H2-oxidizing bacteriumAlcaligenes hydrogenophilus. H2-oxidizing bacteria produce poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid) (PHB) from CO2, but recombinant P.acidophila can produce the more useful biopolymer poly(3-hydroxyalkanoic acid) (PHA). In this study, thepha genes ofP. acidophila were cloned and a sequence analysis was carried out. A gene library was constructed using the cosmid vector pVK102. A recombinant cosmid carrying thepha genes was selected by the complementation of a PHB-negative mutant ofAlcaligenes eutrophus H16. The resulting recombinant cosmid pIK7 contained a 14.8-kb DNA insert. Subcloning was done, and the recombinant plasmid pEH74 was selected by hybridization with theA. eutrophus H16pha genes.Escherichia coli possessing pEH74 produced PHB, indicating that pEH74 contained thepha genes ofP. acidophila. The nucleotide sequences of the PHA-synthesis genesphaA (3-ketothiolase),phaB (acetoacetyl-CoA reductase), andphaC (PHA synthase) in pEH74 were determined. The homologies ofphaA, phaB, andphaC betweenP. acidophila andA. eutrophus H16 were 64.7, 76.1, and 56.6%, respectively.
[reaction: see text] Complex 1 bearing a diphosphinidenecyclobutene ligand (DPCB-OMe) catalyzes highly stereoselective hydrosilylation of diethynylarenes with HSiMe2Ph to afford (Z,Z)-bis(2-silylethenyl)arenes. Treatment of the hydrosilylation products with N-bromosuccinimide causes bromodesilylation in a stereospecific manner, giving (Z,Z)-bis(2-bromoethenyl)arenes in high geometrical purity (>98%). 相似文献
[6n]Paracyclophenediynes 2a-d (n = 3-6) having [4.3.2]propellatriene units were prepared as precursors of the corresponding [6n]paracyclophynes. Laser irradiation of 2a-d produced the negative ions of [6n]paracyclophynes 1a-d (n = 3-6) by extrusion of the indan fragments, which were detected by time-of-flight mass spectrometry. 相似文献
A variety of symmetrically or unsymmetrically 3,4-disubstituttd furoxans such as dicyano, dialkyl, diacyl, bis(phenylsulfonyl), N.N'-dialkyldicarbamoyl, 3(or 4)-methyl-4(or -3)-phenyl(or nitro, ethoxy, phenoxy, phenylthio, pyrrolidinyl, phenylsulfonyl), 3(or 4)-ethyl-4(or -3)phcnyl, and 3(or 4)-ethoxy-4(or -3)-phenylsulfonylruroxan reacted with dipolarophiles in toluene or xylene at the refluxing temperature to give nitrone-type 1,3-dipolar cycloadducts, 5-substituted 1-aza-2,8-dioxabicyclo-[3.3.0]octanes and/or 3-substituted 2-isoxazoline 2-oxides. On the other hand, some of the furoxans gave 2-isoxazolines via nitrile oxide 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition in a toluene (or xylene)-DMF solvent at the refluxing temperature. 相似文献
A photobioreactor was constructed using anchored polyurethane foam strips (1 x 1 x 40 cm) fixed onto a stainless-steel ring
to prevent flotation, as a biomass support material (BSM). This type of reactor was named a seaweed-type bioreactor. A filamentous
cyanobacterium, Scytonema sp. TISTR 8208, which produces a novel cyclic dodecapeptide antibiotic, was immobilized in seaweed-type
photobioreactor and cultivated with air containing 5% CO2 sparged at a gas flow rate of 250 mL/min under illumination at a light intensity of 200 μmol photon m-2s-1. The antibiotic produced in the seaweed-type photobioreactor was purified by HPLC and examined regarding its spectrum and
mode of action. The antibiotic effectively inhibited the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, pathogenic yeasts, and filamentous
fungi, but it had only a weak effect on Gram-negative bacteria. Scanning electron micrograph analysis showed that the most
characteristic change was swelling of the cells after exposure to the antibiotic. The antibiotic seems to alter the conformation
of the microbial cell membrane, thereby changing its permeability, leading to osmotic shock. 相似文献
