Magnetochemical effects occurring upon treatment of the thin ferromagnetic film surface in an acidic medium

The results from magnetooptical studies of the influence of magnetochemical effects on the surface morphology and local magnetic properties of FeN alloy thin films and thin-film systems that consist of alternating silicon dioxide and FeN layers of submicron thickness, are shown. The dramatic influence of chemical etching on the surface morphology and magnetic characteristics of the investigated samples is revealed.     

Quantum-chemical investigation of some oligomeric heteroaromatic compounds

Indigo and its dimer, trimer, dehydro, and leuco forms were investigated within the framework of the Pariser-Parr-Pople method. The electronic structures of the compounds in the ground and excited states and the effect of chain lengthening are discussed, and the UV absorption spectra are interpreted. Several characteristics of the chromaticity of the investigated compounds as representatives of vat dyes are examined. The estimated (from calculations) energetic favorability of the indigoid, dehydro, and leuco forms of indigo is used in discussing the observed and experimental ease of redox transformations of indigo.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 6, pp. 794–798, June, 1972.     

Iterative algorithm of investigating and numerical solving spectral problems for a linear bunch of compact, partially symmetric operators

The character of the spectrum is investigated and eigenfrequencies are calculated with the use of a new iterative algorithm by an example of a spectral problem on eigenfrequencies of a variable-section beam loaded with the moment of torsion.     

Linear magnetoacoustic birefringence effects in FeBO3

A theory of magnetoacoustic birefringence in the weak, easy-plane ferromagnet FeBO₃ is formulated with allowance for the mechanical boundary conditions at the sample in the experiment. The amplitude of the acoustic wave transmitted through the crystal is calculated as a function of the magnetic field; the dependence satisfactorily describes the experimental results. Fiz. Tverd. Ultrasonic crystallizer of CuSO4 solution: Engineering simulation

Ultrasound crystallizer of copper sulfate solution based on creating the solidification front with the aid of a gradient of temperature, which was exposed to ultrasonic waves with use of a magnetostrictive transducer, was proposed. The algorithm for the calculation of critical process parameters of the crystallization was developed jointly using the differential transport equations of momentum, mass, energy, sound waves, and a method of similarity and dimensional analysis.     

Maximum Matchings in the n-Dimensional Cube

The problem of efficient computation of maximum matchings in the n-dimensional cube, which is applied in coding theory, is solved. For an odd n, such a matching can be found by the method given in our Theorem 2. This method is based on the explicit construction (Theorem 1) of the maps of the vertex set that induce largest matchings in any bipartite subgraph of the n-dimensional cube for any n.
