The K-capture probability (P K) in the decay of139Ce (137.5d) has been determined from the analysis of the K x-ray gamma ray sum-peak observed with a Ge (Li) x-ray detector. Furthermore,P K is estimated independently from the measurement of the K x-ray intensity in the decay, using the known conversion coefficients of the 165.8 keV transition. Using the weighted average ofP K measured as above, the mass difference between139Ce and139La is found to be 273 ?13 +21 keV. 相似文献

Monte Carlo simulations show that copolymers with uniformly (or periodically) distributed sticky comonomers collapse "cooperatively," abruptly forming a compact intermediate comprising a monomer shell surrounding a core of the aggregated comonomers. In comparison, random copolymers collapse through a relatively less-compact intermediate comprising a comonomer core surrounded by a fluffy monomer shell that densifies over a wide temperature range. This difference between the collapse pathways for random and uniform copolymers persists to higher chain lengths, where uniform copolymers tend to form multiple comonomer cores. In this paper, we describe the formation of such an intermediate state, and the subsequent collapse, by recognizing that these arise from the expected balance between comonomer aggregation enthalpy and loop formation entropy dictated by the chain microstructure. 相似文献

Denitrification was compared between Paracoccus sp. and Diaphorobacter sp. in this study, both of which were isolated from activated sludge of a denitrifying reactor. Denitrification of both isolates
showed contrasting patterns, where Diaphorobacter sp. showed accumulation of nitrite in the medium while Paracoccus sp. showed no accumulation. The nitrate reduction rate was 1.5 times more than the nitrite reduction in Diaphorobacter sp., as analyzed by the resting state denitrification kinetics. Increasing the nitrate concentration in the medium increased
the nitrite accumulation in Diaphorobacter sp., but not in Paracoccus sp., indicating a branched electron transfer during denitrification. Diaphorobacter sp. was unable to denitrify efficiently at high nitrate concentrations from 1 M, but Paracoccus sp. could denitrify even up to 2 M nitrate. Paracoccus sp. was found to be an efficient denitrifier with insignificant amounts of nitrite accumulation, and it could also denitrify
high amounts of nitrate up to 2 M. Efficient denitrification without accumulation of intermediates like nitrite is desirable
in the removal of high nitrates from wastewaters. Paracoccus sp. is shown to suffice this demand and could be a potential organism to remove high nitrates effectively. 相似文献

The cross sections for the 10B(13C, 12C)11B neutron-transfer reaction, leading to the 11B 4.45 and 6.74 MeV and 12C 4.44 MeV excited states, and for 13C + 10B fusion have been measured by the characteristic and total γ-ray yield methods, respectively, over the energy (c.m.) interval 2.4–5.8 MeV. For 13C + 11B, with no transfer reactions present, the fusion cross sections have been measured between Ec.m. = 2.3 and 6.4 MeV. The fusion cross sections for 13C + 10B and 13C + 11B are found to be almost equal and slightly enhanced with respect to those for 12C + 10B and 12C + 11B. 相似文献
