This paper presents modeling and solution method improvements for the Multi-Resource Routing Problem (MRRP) with flexible tasks. The MRRP with flexible tasks is used to model routing and scheduling problems for intermodal drayage operations in which two resources (tractors and trailers) perform tasks to transport loaded and empty equipment. Tasks may be either well defined, in which both the origin and the destination of a movement are given, or flexible, in which the origin or the destination is chosen by the model. This paper proposes methods to effectively manage the number of options considered for flexible tasks (either feasible origins for a known destination or feasible destinations for a known origin). This modeling change generates sufficient options to allow for low-cost solutions while maintaining reasonable computational effort. We also propose a new solution method that uses randomized route generation. Computational results from test cases show that these changes improve the quality of solutions by at least 5% in the test cases as compared to methods from previous studies. 相似文献

Two novel 25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(3-phenylthiapropxy)-calix[4]arene(3) and 25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis(3-phenylthiapropoxy)-5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butylcalix[4] arene (4) were synthesized for the evaluation of their ion-selectivity in ion-selective electrodes(ISEs).ISEs based on 3 and 4 as neutral ionophores were prepared,and their selectivity coefficients for Ag^ (lg KAg,M^pot)were investigated against other alkali metal,alkaline-earth metal,aluminum,thallium(Ⅰ),Lead and some transition metal ions using the separate solution method (SSM).These ISEs showed excellent Ag^ seletivity over most of the interfering cations examined,except for Hg^2 and Fe^2 having relative smaller interference(lg KAg,M^pot≤-2.1). 相似文献

A laser self-focused channel formation into overdense plasmas was observed using a soft x-ray laser probe system with a grid image refractometry (GIR) technique. 1.053 &mgr;m laser light with a 100 ps pulse duration was focused onto a preformed plasma at an intensity of 2x10(17) W/cm (2). Cross sections of the channel were obtained which show a 30 &mgr;m diameter in overdense plasmas. The channel width in the overdense region was kept narrow as a result of self-focusing. Conically diverging density ridges were also observed along the channel, indicating a Mach cone created by a shock wave due to the supersonic propagation of the channel front. 相似文献

We present a new phenomenology for burn propagation inside a thermal explosion based on dynamic radiography. Radiographic images were obtained of an aluminum cased solid cylindrical sample of a plastic bonded formulation of octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine. The phenomenology observed is ignition followed by cracking in the solid accompanied by the propagation of a radially symmetric front of increasing proton transmission. This is followed by a further increase in transmission through the sample, ending after approximately 100 micros. We show that these processes are consistent with the propagation of a convective burn front followed by consumption of the remaining solid by conductive particle burning. 相似文献

We develop a dynamic fleet scheduling model that demonstrates how a carrier can improve fleet utilization. The fleet scheduling model presented by Lee et?al. (Eur J Oper Res 218(1):261–269, 2012) minimizes (1) a carrier’s fleet size and (2) the penalty associated with the alternative delivery times selected. The model is static since requests are collected over time and processed together. In this paper we present a stochastic, dynamic version of the fleet reduction model. As demand is revealed throughout an order horizon, decisions are made in stages by sampling anticipated demand to avoid recourse penalties in later stages. Based on computational experiments we find the following:
- Modeling stochasticity improves the quality of solutions relative to the analogous model that does not include stochasticity. Counter-intuitively, an order lead-time distribution in which most loads are requested early can negatively impact optimal solution costs.
- The stochastic model produces good results without requiring prohibitively large numbers of demand scenarios.
- Consignees that place orders early in the order horizon are more often assigned their requested delivery times than those who place orders late.
