Role of carbon clusters in pyrolysis of iodomethanes

Molecular parameters and thermodynamic functions of the carbon cluster cyclo-C₁₂ were calculated by the B3LYP method in the aug-cc-pVDZ basis. The composition of products of iodomethane pyrolysis in the range 500–1000 K was calculated from the data obtained in combination with published data on thermodynamic function of other molecules. High experimental yield of methane and carbon (carbyne) in the iodomethane pyrolysis and the absence of even traces of ethane, 1-iodoethane, and 1,2-diiodoethane were accounted for.     

Electron capture posteffects in quenched molten salts

Chemical consequences of electron capture in the ⁵⁷Co nucleus in quenched eutectic melts of salts (nitrates, thiocyanates, and carbamides) have been investigated using nuclear gamma resonance spectroscopy. The posteffects of the nuclear transformation are interpreted in terms of the scavenger competition model.

The three-boson stimulated scattering behaviour

We show the resonance behaviour of three-boson “stimulated scattering” (TBSS) which was observed recently. In a sufficiently cold boson gas the zero momentum particles accumulation should take place as a result of TBSS alone without any collective effects and for any non-bonding two-particle interaction potential.     

Rate constant of the recombination of CF<Stack><Subscript>3</Subscript><Superscript>•</Superscript></Stack> radicals in a gas (He,Ar, N<Subscript>2</Subscript>, or CF<Subscript>3</Subscript>I)

From recent rate constant data for the recombination reaction 2CF₃^• → C₂F₆ ($ k_{(CF_3 )_2 }^M $ k_{(CF_3 )_2 }^M ) in the high-pressure limit and from experimental data obtained at intermediate pressures of buffer gases M (M = He, Ar, N₂, CF₃I), analytical expressions for $ k_{(CF_3 )_2 }^M $ k_{(CF_3 )_2 }^M (in Lindemann’s formulation) are derived for the temperature range of 300–1300 K and intermediate pressures of the buffer gases.     

Natural mineral sorbents for chemical and microbiological purification of potable water

The role of a number of rocks (shungite, glauconite fossil rock, flint) in a chemical and microbiological purification of water was estimated. On the basis of a shungite-dolomite module a simple method for a widescale manufacture of chemically and microbiologically pure potable water with conditionated content of mineral matters was developed.
